11·7 months agoThere’s a lesson I learnt from playing team games: If your teammate makes a bad call that you disagree with, you should still follow them 100%. Going all-in on a questionable decision is almost always better than second guessing each other.
I think it applies here, and it’s why right wingers and religions are so effective. They don’t care if their arguments are flawed or their leader is a rapist, they’re jumping into that fight every time.

133·8 months agoJust spit it out already. Stop being weird and cryptic, we can’t read your mind. What’s wrong with this poster?
Obviously not a full pardon but I feel like Tiger Woods got a bad deal. So much negative press because he cheated on his wife. That used to be a big deal, but bastards have evolved. Since then we’ve had Jimmy Saville and Bill Cosby. Epstein island. There’s a pedo in charge of America. The bar is much higher (lower?), and it only took a few years. He got unlucky with his timing. These days it wouldn’t even be noteworthy. “Consensual sex? With an adult? Booooring”
He couldn’t have lied, that’s a sin

2·8 months agoHi it’s still broken on my machine. I’ve tried turning it off and on again
But make sure you get yourself into a nighttime pissing habit first, for the lolz
Maybe, but it’s just not the same if you can plug your keyboard back in and fix it. CURSE YOU USB
I believe everybody should get a downvoted comment every now and then. Have a real opinion, people!
(I mean things like enjoying Nickelback or hating dogs. No bigotry)
I loved the PCs that had Ctrl + up as a shortcut to flip the monitor orientation. I think it was a Dell thing?
My favourite prank was to flip the screen upside down then unplug the keyboard. Good luck saving your work fuck face
Whoa, wrong way round! The daughters got him drunk on purpose so they could rape him and have his kids.
I’m married and happy and we’ve played Stardew Valley together. Sometimes I leave the house and it’s possible my wife plays stardew while I’m not right next to her. Doesn’t mean I’m broken and lonely. Jesus fucking Christ.
How did he keep track of her heart progression? That’s the most impressive part to me. You’d have to be hovering round with the ring in your pocket for weeks

22·8 months agoYes the law is because of those eating disorders. Here’s the report that led to it https://www.britishfashioncouncil.co.uk/uploads/files/1/The Report of the Model Health Inquiry, September 2007.pdf
I’d agree if you were arguing about banning all unhealthy behaviours in ads, that’s a better comparison and where this sort of argument belongs. I don’t think fat people need to be brought into it in this case though, this law is about the fashion industry encouraging eating disorders.

24·8 months agoWell the law in question here wasn’t made because ads were normalising being a skeleton. The law was made because people were starving themselves on purpose to become like that. The adverts set an unrealistic beauty standard and women were becoming malnourished trying to reach it. So yes it matters. It’s literally why the law was created years ago.
Making an argument about “normalising” unhealthiness is a whole other ball game.

311·8 months agoThe reason we target advertisements in this way is because they’re saying “this is what you need to look like” which encourages young women to starve themselves as they strive to be size 4. This is a separate issue to merely “normalising” things. If you’re concerned with normalisation of obesity, why are you focusing on adverts and not, say, The Simpsons or Family Guy?

919·8 months agoDo you have any evidence that people are striving to be obese because of these adverts? I’d rather not have people call for laws based on vibes. Especially your shitty vibes.
