  • doesn't even make sense for supreme court rulings to be overturned imo. the meaning of the law changed? because you just changed your mind?

thinking on a purely procedural basis within this system, a change in law should be required for something like this to be considered.

  • Big agree with you on the first point. Hell I'm fine with it even if there is no important narrative purpose lol. never watched GoT but I've heard similar sentiments.

  • I thought we already had gippity.

  • I think she is naked in a scene for literally no reason.

    typical GoT lol.

  • preemptive

I looked up the actress for the new antagonist in Avatar 3 (Oona Chaplin) and lord help me I'm crushing (want her to crush me).

I never feel this way about celebrities, it's disorienting

  • I was at a Rennaissance Faire joust performance once and they played Dragula as the guys fought with axes & shit it went so hard.

  • hmmm, do you mean Lois & Clark?

  • Limitless too I think.

  • closest thing I can recall:

  • fantastic writeup, thank you

    see also, the noosphere?

  • we don't know becuase they never say! It's usually words from a scientist, then someone writes a press release, then someone writes a pop-sci article on the topic.

knowing what I do about astronomy I'd guess it's usually mass since that's a fundamental descriptive quality of stars which determines the rest of their qualities. but we can't directly measure mass we measure brightness, the spectra, and estimate the distance. these are used together to estimate the mass.

  • Like, this is why science fiction always has people doing telepathy or telekinesis because humanity was going to """"evolve""" into being able to use more brain

oohhh, I've wondered about that. like huh, why is this form of magic so common in sci-fi?

  • direct from wikipedia

Oxytocin is a peptide hormone and neuropeptide normally produced in the hypothalamus and released by the posterior pituitary.[3] Present in animals since early stages of evolution, in humans it plays roles in behavior that include social bonding, love, reproduction, childbirth, and the period after childbirth.[4][5][6][7] Oxytocin is released into the bloodstream as a hormone in response to sexual activity and during childbirth.[8][9] It is also available in pharmaceutical form. In either form, oxytocin stimulates uterine contractions to speed up the process of childbirth.

In its natural form, it also plays a role in maternal bonding and milk production.[9][10] Production and secretion of oxytocin is controlled by a positive feedback mechanism, where its initial release stimulates production and release of further oxytocin. For example, when oxytocin is released during a contraction of the uterus at the start of childbirth, this stimulates production and release of more oxytocin and an increase in the intensity and frequency of contractions. This process compounds in intensity and frequency and continues until the triggering activity ceases. A similar process takes place during lactation and during sexual activity.

  • I've noticed last night that the part of my brain that generates dreams struggles in some of the same ways that AI image/video generators can struggle.

examples: -stability of elements in the scene (my dog was realistic at the beginning of the dream but changed through two additional breeds by the end of it) -text (it can be difficult to read text in a dream but even if I get a good look at the letters they can be unrealistic, or struggle with stability)

    seems meaningful

  • I don't! this is what I mean by unprepared. it's what I get for being slightly checked out.

  • I'm sorry you're disturbed but this is intended to be more of a joke.

  • Company picnic today and while I am not prepared to be in the sun and talk to coworkers, I am prepared to read a book in the shade.

  • highly critical support to meta for seeding.
