  • In specific cases GDP is flawed, but generally – looking at a lot of countries and a long time frame – a higher GDP means higher living standards.

  • Economists of course know of these flaws and use GDP accordingly. Its for example a great measure how complex the economic flows are.

Of course its known, that countries can easily manipulate the data, for example China, who retrospectively changed their measuring of the economic data of 2022 and increased their GDP growth 2023 that way to 5.2 %. Or Russia, who spent an enormous sum for arms production, financed by debt, which of course led to a higher GDP at the cost of debt.

Nevertheless, if you consider these kind of 'tricks', its a good measure for growth year on year. But this growth can mean two things: higher living standards for its population or a more complex economy.

Its the same with the BMI. Its a good measure in general, but looking at a specific individual, its a highly deceptive measurement.

  • Yes, Eurorovision is only for whites – it has nothing to do with being part of the European broadcast union.

Or maybe...all countries in Europe has a majority white population and Eurovision is mainly european.

Btw: Marocco has participated in the ESC as well, but decided against joining again. Also Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya and Tunisia are allowed to join, but they also decide every year against it. But I guess these are countries with a 'white enough' population, too?

  • Because they don't sell.

  • Thank you! I don't get why they use such weird measurements. Why not use %?

    1. Githubs Copilot
    2. ChatGPT for larger coding tasks (its better at explaining what it does)
    3. Deepl.com/write for proofreading and better texts.
  • Of course its a hype right now. But at the same time AI improved my daily working live in the past year so much! I can outsource a lot of annoying tasks to AI and focus on the more creative tasks and everything strategic.

  • But this will piss of western countries. I don't want to travel to a country, where criticism of Russia can lead to deportation.

At the same time: the old men visiting Thailand for their sex workers are mostly pro-Putin, due to their similarity of interpretation of 'traditional family values' and the general value of dominating others by force and money, so at least their sex tourism sector won't take a deep hit – if thats what Thai people want.

  • UNRWA isn't some kind of company you can punish – its the lifeline for millions.

UNRWA has to investigate how something like this could happen and prevent it from happening ever again – especially since Israel has claimed it for years now and was proven correctly now.

But the immediate reaction of UNRWA has shown that it was not the intention to aid terrorists, but a lack of proper oversight and control. So support needs to continue, alongside a reform of the processes of the UNRWA.

  • Thats just complete BS. Everyone can read the statement from the ICJ. And no, your claim is not part of it. So maybe stop spreading lies on the internet. Its not like this whole conflict is easy to discuss considering facts, but watering the discussion with lies doesn't help anyone.

  • MacOS is even worse than iOS. Have to use it for work. And while the hardware is the best I've ever used, the software is complete garbage.

  • Its so sad what happened to India in the last decade. It was an uprising democracy, with a huge tradition and rich tradition.

But the last years you only hear about rape culture, nationalism and being subservient to Putin to get more arms. Maybe Modi is keeping the economic growth high, but the international reputation of India is taking a huge hit.

  • Its not like you haven't been warned. But you still voted for him.

  • That will be 100 % vetoed. Most nations have a veto right for selling of companies of strategic value, for example Germany has vetoed a lot of sales after the selling of Kuka hugely backfired.

Germany is world class in producing production facilities and Kuka has been one of the most successful companies. These robots you see assembling cars? There has been a time where they were almost all manufactured by Kuka – a german so called 'Mittelstand' company. From 2016 to 2021 Midea – a Chinese company bought Kuka and ultimately decided to make them privately owned again instead of publicly traded. Relatively shortly after this, all patents where transferred to China and a lot of European Companies decided to ditch Kuka due to their strategic dependency and fear of technology theft of China. Since then, the EU has decided to block a lot more sales of European companies of strategic importance to China – especially since its not an even playing field, due to European companies not being allowed to buy Chinese companies in the same way.

I am pretty sure some similar Veto will happen with AMD.

  • I will 100 % judge US Americans if Trump gets reelected. If half of your country votes for them, the people are responsible.

  • Let's hope they can succeed. But prior experiences with NPPs leave me sceptical. So far no country succeeded with such plans. Even China is lacking far behind their plans – and they don't have to account for any concerns of the population (justified or not).

  • But that's exactly the argument international law makes. If the opponent uses civilians and civilian structure as a weapon, they are legit targets.

  • Because they don't need to.

  • Which is still Hamas fault. If you place your military facilities in houses of civilians, refugee camps or even hospitals, these become legit targets. Which is why the term 'genocide' is completely missplaced. IF Israel would target civilian houses, that would be a war crime (even though still not a genocide), but since there have been countless proofs of Hamas using them for military purposes, they are legit targets.

So yes, Israel is allowed to bomb a children's bedroom – because of Hamas.
