Use any pronouns you prefer to refer to me, unless you’re gonna be weird about it.
They could show, they want peace
The alternative will hurt them more
And they will use the weapons they have at hand. I don’t blame them.
I didn’t realize Adolf Hitler created a lemmy account 10 months ago.
Having less nukes is not the same as disarmament it’s not even comparable. They dropped two nukes and did that much destruction in Japan, 2, and those were 1940s nukes, even with this change the US would still have thousands of nukes.

the United States admits to having 5,550
Ukraine went to 0 nukes, the US has 5000+ nukes, how would that even be comparable if the US let’s say went down to 1000 nukes. That’s still 1000 nukes more than 0.

The people that care already care. The people that don’t won’t read this.
Just try to understand what it looks like when this shows up in my inbox, people leave rude and agressive comments on my posts a handful of times a day. Without that additional context this just reads like you are saying that it is useless to post this article as “The people that care already care. The people that don’t won’t read this.” It’s not a big deal, just very unclear from the original comment the intent behind what you were trying to say.
What a nice way to go into a post and say “why post this it’s pointless” on a link aggregator. It’s posted in the relevant/applicable community, no one is forcing you to interact with it or comment useless backseat posting comments. If someone wants to click on the article and read it they will, if they don’t they won’t, just like every other post on this website.
When you post an article you are probably better off just posting the link, in the box that says URL. Then when you click on the title of the post it will take you directly to the website. I see you are posting from mastodon, so you might not know what* it looks like on lemmy where you are posting it to. I would suggest taking a look and consider just posting to lemmy from a lemmy account or improving the formatting if that is possible.
Go fuck yourself :)

Wildlife traffickers pleaded guilty this week in federal court in California to illegally importing endangered sea cucumbers — which are prized in China for food and medicine and as a reputed aphrodisiac.
Yeah, I think it’s very deceptive in how it markets itself. I think the only reason you see it so much in sites like lemmy and reddit is it went viral during the 2016 US election, where discussions of “fake news” and media bias really took off for the first time and people have just been trusting it ever since.
I’m only pointing out he’s trained as a physical therapist to highlight that he is not trained in a field relevant to this whatsoever, you can be a critical thinker without being a journalist or going to college, but this person just decided they would be the arbiter of what media bias was in the 2016 US election and has just run with it. Most people do not realize this is just some guy’s opinions, if it was named “David Van Zandt’s blog on media bias” people would probably trust it less than naming it “MediaBiasFactCheck” which makes it sound like it’s not just the opinions of one random dude.
Press TV is Iranian state media, I don’t think you should either implictly trust what they are reporting or implictly distrust what they are reporting, you have to look at what is being claimed in an article by article basis and decide whether what they are saying is well sourced and seems accurate. You shouldn’t just “trust the site” for any news source in general, that is the opposite of critical thinking.
https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/about/
Dave Van Zandt is a registered Non-Affiliated voter who values evidence-based reporting. Since High School (a long time ago), Dave has been interested in politics and noticed as a kid the same newspaper report in two different papers was very different in their tone. This curiosity led him to pursue a Communications Degree in college; however, like most 20-year-olds, he didn’t know what he wanted and changed to a Physiology major midstream. Dave has worked in the healthcare industry (Occupational Rehabilitation) since graduating from college but never lost the desire to learn more about bias and its impacts.
The combination of being fascinated by politics, a keen eye to spot bias before he even knew what it was called, and an education/career in science gave Dave the tools required for understanding Media Bias and its implications. This led to a 20-year journey where Dave would read anything and everything he could find on media bias and linguistics. He also employed the scientific method to develop a methodology to support his assessments.
After years of people telling him to launch a website, in late 2015, Mediabiasfactcheck.com was born from a combination of many different experiences and exhaustive research. For the last 9 years, Dave and his team have refined their methods and improved their reviews to the point where the website receives consistently high traffic levels and is considered a top authority in rating media bias and credibility.
You are trusting the opinions of a physical therapist who identifies as a “Non-Affiliated” voter, I’m not saying you have to like PressTV, it is perfectly valid to not trust their reporting if you have reasons not to, but I think you can determine whether you trust it on your own, instead of relying on this “Non-Affiliated” loser to inform your opinions.
I would recommend not downloading any app that isn’t open source that has that permission enabled to begin with.
Cisco’s technology enables Israel’s genocide against 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza through advanced military communication networks facilitated by Cisco’s Unified Communication systems.
They are focusing on that it is being used in a military context. Not just doing business, although they have different levels of campaigns for different brands, using the categories in the graphic in this article.

I think the conventional wisom is diet is more important than exercise in losing weight, although I think most people would recommend working out once a week regardless if you would lose weight or not, basically any working out would be positive if you aren’t at all, it couldn’t hurt to do sit ups and push ups and see where that takes you.
which apps are seeing your shared storage when you export your contacts?
in a foss contacts app
I said in a foss one, I don’t think the foss developers are conspiring to get rid of your contacts, maybe for apple you might have to hope the developer doesn’t get burnt out, but the android foss community is pretty robust, but if you’re that paranoid just put them in a txt file or a spreadsheet.
You might still have to use a gmail account for this though, depending on if your email works with it.
There’s also Nextcloud which would be self hosted.
And the extremely low tech solution of just having them offline in a foss contacts app and exporting backups from that app to your storage in case you lose them.
If you’re gonna drop this kind of comment please get in the habit of sourcing your claims. No one should take your word for this without at least knowing where your claims are coming from, show your sources.
I assume you are getting this from amnesty international reports.
Hey just letting you know that you have cross posted this to lemmy, lemmy is a link aggregator akin to reddit, a link would have been helpful in this post as a source for the information you are talking about, would highly recommend looking at what the cross post actually looks like on lemmy if you can.
