Here’s the thing, though: it could be argued that a brain implant could serve functional purposes – faster mental math, better memory recollection, faster interfacing with computers that doesn’t break one’s hands, better control of limbs for amputated peeps or with nerve damage and there’s certainly more.

The reason why I wouldn’t touch it are the risks of damage to my brain, the fact that the software and hardware are closed-source in all the products I’ve heard from, the prices are so high it would create a schism between the rich and the poor, etc

They have tons of laws in common with the US, trade deals, railways that cross all over the place… Cutting canada from the US would be a nightmare

I’ve had no Seagate failures in my life thus far, and I’ve got 5 drives from them by now. Backups aren’t optional so I just trust trust the data-center numbers.
