  • Elections in Hungary are still free (although not very fair), Orban has held on largely through state propaganda (what they are protesting) and the fact that previous opposition groups have been incompetent and unpopular, while the new Tisza group is much more united and popular

  • Of course he won’t, they aren’t trying to convince Orban, they are trying to convince the people of Hungary to vote him out in the next election

  • It’s sometimes hard to translate things like this into English well so that would make sense

  • The thing is, he’s directly saying that China isn’t their motherland because their government was born first. He’s saying that although their government used to control China, its home is Taiwan now. The DPP is against the idea of reclaiming the mainland or claiming too much heritage or symbolism from the mainland as they are the pro-independence party in Taiwan

  • I haven’t closely followed Taiwanese politics but I’m pretty sure the DPP (his party) is largely supported by the indigenous people

  • Are they spying on our spying technology now?

  • I think this is satire? You can never tell these days

  • Ummm uhhh it’s the Mexicans fault

    /s

  • Well it would to everyone who relies on Mozilla for making the only current alternative engine to chromium. Mozilla dying would harm its forks, too, and finally give chromium a total monopoly

  • Mozilla won’t go after ad blocking. It just makes no sense for them to do so. They haven’t given any indication that they will put extra ads in Firefox, they are saying that they are creating an ad company which respects privacy as an alternative to all the others

  • You can easily turn them off in settings

  • I’m not saying this is what’s definitely going to happen, I’m saying there’s a chance democrats lessen their support for Israel after the election since they won’t have to care about the (depressingly large) influence of pro Israel groups in our elections.

  • It just isn’t as good of a political strategy to go after progressives, who the DNC knows overwhelmingly vote dem regardless. The number of leftists who won’t vote for the democrats just isn’t high enough for them to care, which unfortunately means they pivot towards moderates, independents, and moderate republicans in basically every election

  • Right now they have to be pro-Israel since it’s election season and if they do anything less than give another 10 billion to Israel every week, republicans will accuse them of wanting to kill all Jews. After the election passes, there will be a lot less incentive for democrats to continue supporting Israel

  • Not really, people try to get defectors from the opposite party in every election

  • I think that if the democrats win this election there is a decent chance the US could start slowly pulling support. Right now, democrats have to be rabidly pro Israel or else they will lose the election, since unfortunately pro-Israel groups still hold a lot of influence over our elections

  • Because this one uses a different word, it’s the same idea

  • They used the word “talent” not effort

  • Nope. Unironically. There was a big poster of this in one of my classes last year run by a teacher who definitely fully believed it
