  • The Russians have apparently already entered Hulyaipole, a logistical hub that sits on the first line of defense in the Zaporizhia region, something DeepState map was adamant the Russians didn't have enough forces for. This comes after they already rolled up the entire first line of defense to the east of the town.

I've been watching the map updates daily (primarily from Weeb Union, who aggregates map updates from sources such as DeepState, Suriyak, and direct Ukrainian and Russian reports) and the progress of the Russians towards Zaporizhia has been nothing short of astounding given the usual pace of advances. At the current rate, I'd wager they will have taken most of the oblast, and will start surrounding Zaporizhia city from the east within 9 months. Do note that they have pretty much bypassed the main lines of defense, and can pretty much just advance into open territory, so I don't expect this pace to slow down much at all.

Sorry to make a game reference, but this reminds me a bit of the Starcraft 1 rounds I used to play against the AI, where the opponent pulls every single unit he has from the entire map to defend one base -- and then you take it, you advance further and realize that all the other structures are now completely undefended and you can just steamroll through. In this case, Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad appear to have been that base.

The West is of course ignoring these advances in their communication and focusing entirely on the relatively slow advances in the Pokrovsk encirclement (which also favors Russia, but the Westeners are still pretending that the city isn't already lost). But subconsciously, I think they know that Ukraine is losing badly. The responses from Pro-Ukraine defenders online have become a lot more unhinged in recent weeks, either through easily disproven arrogance, or just by frothing at the mouth to the point where one must imagine steam coming out of their ears. Still, they don't see a peace deal as an option. They prefer to rely on Pro-Western propaganda outlets like the Moscow Times, which tells them that Russia will surely collapse within the next 2 years, which is the same they said 2 years ago, and will be the same they will say 2 years from now. So, no real action needed.

The negotiations are a joke from my point of view. The war will be fought to its military conclusion, and 2026 may prove to be VERY interesting in this regard.

  • Seems more like Japan's gone Mental more than anything.

  • Thankfully we can rely on the EU to torpedo any deal that would be potentially harmful to the Global South in the long run, so we'll never have to worry about Russia falling for any of these.

  • Point 14 seems like an absolute non-starter for both Russia and Europe:

    1. Frozen funds will be used as follows:

$100 billion in frozen Russian assets will be invested in US-led efforts to rebuild and invest in Ukraine. The US will receive 50% of the profits from this venture. Europe will add $100 billion to increase the amount of investment available for Ukraine's reconstruction. Frozen European funds will be unfrozen. The remainder of the frozen Russian funds will be invested in a separate US-Russian investment vehicle that will implement joint projects in specific areas. This fund will be aimed at strengthening relations and increasing common interests to create a strong incentive not to return to conflict.

The US trying to cash out.

In general I've seen both sides dislike this proposal, which is really funny.

  • To the tune of "Gaston":

    • ♫ No one takes backshots while bottoming like Eee-lon ♫
    • ♫ "I use Adderall in all my Twitter posting!" ♫

♫ My, what a guy! Eeeeeee loooooon ♫

  • At least use a good war mapper like Suriyak, complete skill issue.

  • Thankfully, the Eurolibs are too stupid to understand that this is a terrible deal for Russia, and they will do everything to stop it.

In their fervent bloodlust, the Europeans have turned into Russia's best friend, always looking out for them to make sure they, and Ukraine, don't accept any deception from the United States.

  • She's gonna drag her country into a failed war like a girlboss.

  • This is life for most people in the West. I've had to realize most people enjoy being a cog in a machine, putting tons of effort in a rat race to nowhere. They think making their bosses' wallet larger helps the world somehow.

But at the same time, realizing this brings you no catharsis because then you're just stucking working on stuff that doesn't matter, and wasting your time and potential doing the bare minimum.

Only case where I personally find work fulfilling is if it creates something that I can later point my finger at and say "I built that" or "I helped out with this". But most workers can't ever say that because they work in services, or their efforts are hidden by the veil of corporate secrecy. Which means outside of the realm of their workplace, they are nobodies. And some manager can easily decide to remove them from that realm, leaving them with nothing.

I like putting extreme amounts of effort into things. I crave this kind of exertion. But I cannot deal with the fruits of my labor being transient and invisible to humanity. It demotivates me and kills me from the inside.

  • G*mers will then go on to praise Steam community as this great service it provides to users, which justifies the 30% cut Valve takes on every game.

Thank you Gabe for the infinite Nazi cesspit!

  • Death Stranding 2 is the objectively wrong choice because this is the first time I'm hearing that game even came out, lmao. Extremely weak considering how hyped the first game was.

Objectively correct choice is Silksong due to the sheer hype around its release alone.

(and for the record, I don't play Nintendo games but it was very easily noticeable that Bananza came out. DS2 left absolutely no impact by comparison)

  • If Greenland got annexed by the US, it might actually become part of a less fascist state at this point.

  • Bold to assume a Nazi like her cares about making people's lives better.

What she really wants is to exterminate everyone who isn't "normal" in her eyes.

  • "We're smoking raw gender"

  • Ukraine Nazi denial taken to its logical conclusion.

  • Oh wow, sounds like the thing they are accusing Russia of.
