  • Phillips heads are not designed to cam out. They were designed to not cam out. Common myth that keeps getting repeated, to explain their poor performance.

  • I think the purpose of these has went over a lot of people’s head.

The are likely going to be used for wheel nuts, primarily for aesthetics.

The cars are going to come with a socket for these, just like every car comes with a socket for the security wheel nut.

  • Many of these springer textbooks were terrible before LLM fuckery.

  • The people responsible only had experience with React, so they rebuilt it using React.

  • Volvo made aircraft engines for SAAB at one point. It makes sense when you account for the size of Sweden and the complexity of an aircraft that it’s a big challenge for one business or nation to build alone.

  • Is it not the case in the US that cowboy something means that something is a scam/crook/dishonest?

I assumed cowboy means scammer/crook was common in all English speaking countries.

  • Rangers fans don’t wave Scottish flags, they’re all loyalists (pro Britain/Monarchy).

  • Destroying money would make it more valuable.

  • Microsoft said there wouldn’t be a 10.

  • The nastiness of Trump is his appeal. They like the idea of people getting punished while they get away with it. It’s part of why his appeal is so broad. His speech’s feel like a friend making snide remarks. So they envision him punishing the people they dislike, but never them.

No one wants to admit this to themselves, never mind someone else. So they’ll tie themselves up in knots trying to justify why they like him.

  • If you buy the one in the image in the post, the metal part screws off from the plastic frame. You could then bend or brake the tab used to solder the cable to the connector (it’s thin) and you would have something closer to the right side image.

  • No, it’s better because Google can validate that it’s your information so they can use it to sell better targeted ads for more money. Or more pessimisticly sell that info to other companies/countries/scammers.

You take all the risk they take all the profit.

  • I don’t think you got the central point. Protestants exist to protest Catholicism. A Protestant that recognises catholics as Christian’s wouldn’t be a Protestant.

Different sects of Protestantism are able to recognise other sects as Christian’s because a central tentant of Protestant practice is the personal relationship with God. So different sects of Protestants find that easier to accept. Where as Catholics practice a relationship with God that is tied to the organisation and the Pope.

Mormons are arguably a different religion altogether. Similar to how Jewish/Christian/Islam all share similar but different religious texts making them all different religions.

    The intended outcome is othering.

You misunderstand reasonable. It does not mean good, more the natural conclusion given the context.

  • It’s not ridiculous for Protestants to say catholics aren’t Christian. Protestant movements came about because they believed the Catholic Church wasn’t teaching the word of God. It’s not a coincidence it came about at a similar time to the printing press.

As people became more literate they started to learn the contradictions between the priests and the bible. The reaction to this resulted in movements that preached personal relationships with God and rejection of false profits (worshiping popes, saints etc).

If your not aligned with either of these religions is seems ridiculous. The reality is you can’t think Protestantism is the correct path if you believe Catholics are Christians. This is the same for many religions, they mostly claim they are right and everyone else is wrong.

  • Swiftfin is the official Apple TV jellyfin app. Swiftfin is great on iOS, but hasn’t been updated on Apple TV for a while. It also lacks a lot of polish and features but it is being worked on. There should be an update soon.

I’ve been using infuse on Apple TV. Infuse isn’t open source and needs a subscription to watch most 4k hdr content. I think it’s worth it if Swiftfin gets an update soon.

Apple TV is definitely a better experience compared to Samsung and Android. Apps are nicer and there isn’t any ads, privacy controls and privacy statements are much better. Recommended content can also be disabled and only shows when your hovering over the relevant app.

  • They are responding to crimes being committed. This helps, and minimises the scope of the law. But, it doesn’t solve root cause.

  • You already need to have a reason to carry around a large blade. Anything over pocket/eating size. Someone with a kebab knife would have to be selling, gifting, repairing or travelling from or to a kebab place.

With these swords, collecting them is a good reason that would make it difficult to prosecute someone carrying it as a weapon. Banning them means the person carrying them is without doubt a criminal, because they are now illegal.

Most people committing knife crimes don’t have a profession (that they would tell police about) that requires large blades.

  • Microsoft can’t render text properly. Which is embarrassing for the company that makes the most popular document tools. Every app Microsoft makes that renders text well is running chromium at some level.

  • They don’t get used as much. This law isn’t trying to stop everyone.
