  • There used to be google reviews for the Pacific Ocean that were pretty amusing, but Google took them down. Same for other oceans. Seems they left one review on the Atlantic and Indian Oceans but there used to be way more than that. Can't be having too much fun now can we?

  • In France some common ones are Rose, Iris, Capucine (Nasturtium), Hortense (Hydrangea), Marguerite (Daisy), Violette, Azalée (Azalea), Camélia, Fleur (Flower), Lilas (Lilac). There's way more than that but those are the ones that come to mind.

  • I hope he never stopped failing

  • Sweet, thanks for the recs! Man if there's a program out there that can cut down on culling time that would be amazing! It's consistently the most painful part of the process...

  • I haven't tried to be honest, I haven't had much time to tinker around. I have a spare laptop that my work gave to me that was functioning fine but they were going to toss. Haven't done anything with it yet so I may give it a try when I have more time on my hands.

  • If someone can get DXO PureRaw and Lightroom to work on Linux, I'll switch immediately and won't look back.

  • Eh speculating on whether someone is being honest about their orientation gives me the ick. A lot of biphobic people won't believe someone is actually bi unless they have proof someone has dated people of different genders, and I'm not about that y'all. She's garbage whether she's honest about he orientation or not.

  • Sinema is a piece of shit *but she never claimed to be a lesbian. She came out as bisexual.

  • Please never stop!

  • No distraction necessary, they'll just beat the crap out of you and make you hand it over!

  • Thanks anon! Fingers crossed I can bring over more photos in 2026!

  • They can act so childish!

That's exactly it, it seemed like childish little fights, they weren't going for the kill, just pissing each other off. It was somehow both interesting and entertaining.

I have to be honest, this sub motivated me to keep trying until I found them. Always happy to share the love of owls with others 😊

  • Happy new year anon! Thank you so much for all you do for this instance, this sub wouldn't be what it is without you! Will be looking forward to more owly goodness in 2026 and hope you have a great start to the year!

Short-eared owls to close off the year

  • Hey anon, if you ever find yourself in the east of France during winter or some reason, I know a spot ;) what I found interesting was one or two birds would turn their heads to follow you with squinted eyes, while the others stood still. I'm guessing they might take turns as lookouts? I hope you get to see one live soon, they're really charming fellas.

I keep meaning to do a post on this small Serbian town that gets taken over by them every year and they can have over 100 in a single tree. It must be amazing!

I've seen a video by a photographer about this place. I would love to see a post on it here!
