  • Your blithe refusal to engage my constructive rebuttal of your uneducated and intolerant opinion (linked here for your convenience) renders this pearl-clutching statement irrelevant.

  • Let's take a moment. I want you to understand that the opinion you offered is precisely what the OP article references. More than that, the opinion you offered is factually wrong.

I would like you to hear from me - an anonymous poster - the most likely outcome (of that opinion you offered) is a lonely, sad, and bitter existence for you.

Your preferences for certain kinds of women are yours, and yours alone. I wish you luck in finding a woman that fits your preference. However if you truly believe in that opinion, i strongly recommend seeking professional help.

  • How on earth did you stumble across a comment that is 5 days old?

No objection with your framing. In fact, I tend to agree. My disagreement was the narrow / binary lens applied by the previous commentor. Their perspective ('your responsibility to learn') is/was an extremely dismissive approach.

  • It's not their responsibility to teach but it's also not my responsibility to keep abreast of all social developments. It's inappropriate to gatekeep due to someone's naive ignorance.

Picture this. Sitting at a table game and someone drops a term or phrase that I don't recognise. Am I going to run to the toilet and google that term? Or am I just gonna say 'yo, what's that mean?"

  • Pacified by $$$ signs. Counter culture doesn't pay for Bezos next yacht.

  • Sooo high speed from Whitby to Toronto?

Biggest issue isn't Joe Taxpayer who commutes from Peterborough to Toronto. It's the person who commutes from King City to Bay St. Need a solution for satellite / feeder cities - high speed doesn't suffice unfortunately

  • Not workable. Manhattan and London have viable alternatives to driving, namely, their transit systems. Your proposal doesn't fix the last mile, which for Toronto, is especially egregious.

    I like the thinking though.

  • Hey mate. I get it. I never fit into remote work, although I never experience as confronting of an incident as you.

Frankly, I would never have had the balls to invite 'the lads' back to a D&D game. I thought social ostracism would have been the LEAST of my worries. And I was in my 30s too. So hat off to you. If you get to Toronto, I'll buy you a beer.

  • Anyone notice that Halifax is spelt 3 different ways in the article?

    My personal favourite is Hailfox.

  • I agree. Ability for a third party / uncontrolled phone text to wipe my phone? No thanks

  • K.

  • I have a spare device at home (an old nexus 5). If I ever render the FP 6 unusable, I can fall back to that while I wait for parts to be shipped from Europe.

Ultimately the shipping cost and wait time is the only real hurdle to being outside Europe.

  • I never dabbled with sideloading ROMs, my experience is just stock android.

  • I switched from pixel (originally a nexus user, then most models up to 6) to FP6. After using google phones for well over a decade, I won't be going back. Anecdotally:

    • FP 6 camera is decidedly inferior to pixel 7 pro. Not just the image quality, but also the pre- and post- processing abilities you have in the pixel simply don't exist on the FP. Native camera app is fully functional but somewhat limited in options.
    • Every. Single. Google. App. can be uninstalled. Simply can't do that on the pixel. FP comes with a single lightweight manufacturer app that seems to provide only functionality / drivers.
    • machine learning on the FP is less capable that the pixel series. For illustration, the 'predictive apps' that you see on your pixel is just not available on the FP. In short, Pixel has a strong but invisible range of predictive outcomes that you (I) didn't recognise until I switched to vanilla android.
    • phone is a lot more location dependent. For illustration: I'm in North America and the October android patch forced my device into a boot cycle. Had to disable precise location as a short-term fix. Turns out that FP 6 isn't sold by FP in North America (Murena is a reseller, no shade) so it's a bit unsurprising that the patch isn't robust worldwide. However. The issue was raised in the FP forums, the manufacturer ACTUALLY CONTACTED AFFECTED USERS seeking logs, and a month later shipped the next patch which resolved the problem (I've had tickets open with google for 3 bloody years without resolution).

To summarise my experience, I was unconsciously dependent on certain Pixel functionality, and the switch was a little shock. But I feel much more capable with this phone and I certainly feel more control.

    Good luck with the choice!

  • Atomic blonde, Charlize Theron nails it

  • Way to shoot the messenger there. Or are you also taking that pitchfork after Jassy?

  • You're a knob, sweetie.

  • Prove it.

  • My man, why do you trust so easily? No source, no evidence, just empty words on a screen.

    Be better.
