  • Yeah, I mean presentation and gender are separate, a person doesn't have to change their gender to change their appearance (unless they want to).

  • On mine I had to use a BIOS flasher tool since it was locked and Dev mode wasn't allowed to be enabled (think it was due to enterprise enrollment), though flashing the image directly worked like a charm following the unbricking guide.

  • I never liked doing it. Got in trouble a few times for not doing it, though that didn't matter to me since I got in trouble a lot when I was in school. Those dipshits (the counselor) thought I had "Gender Identity Disorder" and was reacting because of "distress" (Not because I wouldn't say the pledge, I did many worse things than that), they also used the fact that I also had long hair and sometimes would wear a skirt as evidence I had GID. What fun people I spent my childhood with sarcasm I'm glad my parents are and were nice people otherwise I might not be here today.

  • This shouldn't even be a debate or question. This hateful bullshit against Blahaj just needs to stop and mods need to put their foot down and say enough is enough. Like if this kind of shit arguing against a queer friendly instance for being queer friendly is okay or permitted I don't think that !yepowertrippinbastards@lemmy.dbzer0.com should even be on our instance anymore, and our admins should just remove it.

  • When one is using it on themselves like you describe it is a form of reclamation. Same goes with trap.

    Though I disagree with you and find "trap" to be uber offensive even as someone who is also a femboy, because it implies I pretend to be a woman to trick people, really gross.

    You are spot on that these words are mainly offensive when used against people pejoratively, in that context they absolutely are slurs.

  • I'm not saying it is on the same level, just that it's a slur, it is used to objectify and dehumanize trans people, usually trans women, by reducing them to their genitals and a sexualized stereotype. So while it isn't the same level as trnny or fggot or groomer, it's still very bad in a different way.
