  • I know. But most of these engineers are on the job and on the road 99 percent of the time. And a quick WhatsApp message is all they want.

  • My only issue is having WhatsApp in my circle is a must.

Friends and families are more than happy to text or call. But the numerous contractors and engineers I work with and request their service, to them WhatsApp is a must to send photos of issues or videos of faults.

  • I have seen this happening before on my phone.

Some apps detect a capacity of 4350 (Accubattery) while Samsung themselves state that the design capacity is 4500.

I haven't done any battery change and still rock the genuine one it came with.

I don't think it matters to be honest as long as you are sure the battery in your phone has the right capacity.

  • Disables side loading.

That's one reason why I wouldn't be using it.

  • Couldn't agree more.

I think one that can be done is to create a pinned FAQ post in Reddit on the fediverse sub Reddit. I have seen so many questions popping up lately with a lot of potential users that seem confused.

  • Teams does record how much a member talked and displays a bar that shows that information.

I wouldn't be surprised if zoom does something similar.

  • What staff costs, I walk around needing help in shops and I can barely find anyone available.

  • Have you tried using the futo keyboard app?

    Supposedly does everything offline locally.

  • The fact that they take over and withhold those 2FA seeds are a big no for me.

  • What I don't understand is why RedNote?

Has it been pushed and advertised by TikTok?

There are countless other established platforms. Not sure why.

  • Technology companies including Microsoft, Anthropic and OpenAI welcomed the plan

    Of course, what else.

  • I know Samsung phones can do something similar with a built in Modes and Routines feature. They allow you to access things that otherwise would require root from tasker.

  • I have a few routines that I use.

    For example,

I have one that auto rotates some apps.

One that sends a notification to my watch when the phone is fully charged.

Another that enables NFC when I open the wallet app and disables it automatically.

Another that enables auto rotate, silences phone, and enables DND when playing games.

  • An application like tasker makes you realise the weird and amazing stuff you can do.

  • Even though the android version of it has been discontinued, Syncthing remains my top FOSS app. Not sure how it will behave in the future but v1.28.1 works well for now.

  • Bet this won't affect their US market as usual.

Us in Europe will get the worse experience.

  • That last screenshot is the reason why I think local backups should be an option.

  • My advice would be to look into emulators. Old school games do not have any micro transactions and are complete. Plus there is a vast library of consoles and games to go through.
