Every aspect of professional sports is a fucking racket. Ticket prices are ridiculous, concession prices are ridiculous, merch/souvenir prices are ridiculous, and even though you're paying an arm and a leg for the privilege of watching the game in person you're constantly bombarded with advertising! No surface is left without some ad for beer or gambling (not the point but how the fuck can sports teams/leagues advertise sports betting, it's wild).
I love that Local Sports Team got the city to pay for their new arena and gave them massive tax breaks all while Local Sports Team rakes in unimaginable wealth while the city around their arena crumbles into disrepair
Maybe I'm a cynic but probably nothing more than what's already happened. Some British nonce loses his titles but none of the privilege, not much beyond that unless footage gets published and even then. People will claim it's AI, it's deepfake, it's whatever, and the world moves on.

Not an expert but I think they rely on other people seeing how cruel your captors are. I don't think it's about affecting your enemy directly but having others pressure them on your behalf using starving yourself as a wedge/lever
