  • Translation:

Military cooperation: Burkina Faso deploys two battalions to defend Iran.

  • Do we have any way to know whether the strikes on the carrier hit or were intersected?

  • I saw that after writing this comment. And yes, that makes sens. Though that kinda makes my criticism worse: whichever high ranking officer(s?) though that lunacy was a good plan is a fool and has no business commanding an army.

  • They really aren't the sharpest tool in the shed are they?!

Why would bombing people make them riot against their government when said government is the only thing between you(r bombs) and them? That would be like a Chernobyl worker throwing away their Hazmat suit because a few rads of X-rays still get through.

Then again the actual military officers of Israel might have let that "political official" believe what he wanted about the operation to get his bullshit off their back or he might be wrong for whatever other reason or he might be lying, so there is no guaranty that this is accurate.

Though if this is correct that would explain why these idiots wastes munitions killing civilians instead of targeting Iran's radars and missile launchers with them.

  • And with no sens of how to conduct a war effort either. If the objective really is to destroy Iran's capability to launch ordinances at Israel then this is objectively a waste of missiles and bombs, of which both the US and Israel are rather short on these days.

  • So, let me count score real quick to see if I understand the situation:

    Iran:

    • Completely destroyed at least 1 American base, heavily damaged multiple others
    • Killed over 500 American soldiers throughout the region
    • Cut one of the most important maritime choke-points on Earth
    • Struck dozens of targets in Israel

    All that in 2 days.

Meanwhile all the US-Israel alliance has to for their aggression is they killed a bunch of civilians plus a few politicians and maybe a general.

Do I have this about right? Surely I'm missing something and it's not that one-sided right?

  • It's definitely possible, historically wars have been a trigger for revolution, and the peoples of the region have all the grievances to justify starting one.

  • What's the status of the bases that have been hit? I've seen report that they were devastated (~70% destroyed). Also, are there any bases that haven't been hit yet?

  • At this point I'm pretty convinced that the US wasn't all that enthusiastic about a war against Iran and only did it because of pressures from Israel, so I think it's more about destroying Iran's ability to be a potential threat to Israel (i.e. their capacity to manufacture and/or launch missiles and drones) than a play against China, though the US probably does hope it would help with that too.

  • How many us bases in total are there in the region? A quick internet search doesn't seem to give me a definitive number.

  • Can you point to me where in the constitution does it say that?

  • "Yes, genocide is bad, but have you thought about this purely hypothetical scenario where there is a trolley and peoples tied to the tracks?"

  • in famous thought experiment, named Trolley problem, do you call yourself murderer (genocider) if you decide to push the lever?

Yes, even if it's "justified" or "the most moral choice" or "the lesser evil" knowingly killing someone is still murder.

Incidentally, the trolley problem is a poorly made though experiment. The fact that the only way it has to deal with "troll answers" that refuse its attempt to impose a false dichotomy is to say "that's not allowed" or "just answer the question" should be proof enough that it doesn't apply to real world "dilemmas" even as a metaphor.

  • Use enough missiles to damage / sink the carriers so that the soldiers are forced to abandon them. Then use rescue boats to take the survivors to shore and use them as leverage for negotiations. Heavily publicize this on media channels showing real American lives being used.

My addendum to this: launch cheap stuff first, like drones, the force the carrier to deplete its very expensive and hard to replace anti-air missiles, then, when the anti-air missiles runs out, launch more potent stuff like missiles.

  • That would be foolish of them, the US army is already overextended, under-maintained and under-supplied as they are.

  • Do you have any sources on what the communists have been up to in Kenya?

  • Who would have thunk it?

  • I mean, yeah, true. But this is meant to be training so I just draw what I see for now. Maybe an other time.

  • Thanks 🥰
