  • It's also probably higher than reported due to people not understanding what constitutes "a drink." People are naturally not accurate at judging volumes/weight (even if they know the amounts) and probably aren't measuring. Many more think "a drink" is "whatever is in my glass/bottle/can." It's further complicated by the wide variation in alcohol content among drinks within the same category.

  • I think there may be a language barrier here. Stating cats don't "jive with a vegan lifestyle" is referring to the lifestyle of the individual with the cat, not the opinions cat themselves. A few studies in a controlled environment were they kept cats alive is not the same as what's best for the cats. There are definitely ethical concerns with attempting that at home.

  • I never said genocide of jews, you keep saying that. There shouldn't be a two state solution, Europeans should learn to stay home instead of wreaking havoc in others homes. The best path forward would look similar to Germany after ww2. This includes prosecution of military, civic, and civilian offenders. Any "dual" citizens sent back to their countries of origin because they are literally just colonizers and have no actual ties to the land. Then a government not predicated on race established with equal rights for everyone, restoration of stolen property, and reperations made.   • I can't say for certain that person's intent, but i didn't read it that way. My early childhood was dependent on the kindness of people who didn't have to care, and when my parents were able, they did the same for others. While it is without a doubt that Trump is making the issue worse, their comment is completely accurate, it didn't start with him. I will say that a stat from 2023 does not go back to the root of the problem. In many states and municipalities, the machine has been dismantling assistance programs for decades. The most visible and egregious was, of course, Reagan's racist "welfare queen" rhetoric, along with the "war on drugs," dehumanizing and criminalizing poverty and melanin. It is absolutely maddening that this discourse and policy decisions are now being attributed to a dipshit who is intellectually incapable of hiding his intent when we've been yelling until our lungs collapse that this was the intent all along.
