  • I always was a bit confused by people that said "Ukraine deserves to join the EU already".

    Yeah, we can all agree we should support it as much as possible against Russia, but joining the EU is not something you deserve, but something you work towards by aligning yourself with it on a multitude of levels. If we would add new countries without following that process, the EU would get even less manageable than it already is. 😢 I hope Ukraine can get there, but getting rid of anti-corruption measures is not it.

  • Keine direkten Konsequenzen, nein. Aber ich würde schon davon ausgehen, dass andere Gerichtsverfahren bezüglich Klimaschutz dadurch beeinflusst werden könnten, indem diese Gerichte sich zum Teil auf dieses Urteil beziehen. Keine Ahnung, bin kein Jurist, aber klingt zumindest für mich logisch😅

  • Hin und wieder komme ich da auch durch, aber zumindest sind sie da so fortschrittlich, dass der Zug nur kurz anhält, die Polizisten einlädt, weiterfährt und dann an der nächsten Station, wenn sie einmal durch den Zug gelatscht sind, wieder rauswirft.

    Aber ja, auch da picken sie inzwischen nur noch vereinzelt welche raus.

  • Yeah, we have hard times ahead, and probably a lot of people will die, but I don't see humanity go extinct any time soon.

  • Das würde ich darauf schieben, dass Elon auch nicht gerade die hellste Leuchte ist (insbesondere was zwischenmenschliche Interaktionen angeht) und dadurch nicht erkannt hat welche Knöpfe er bei Trump drücken muss.

    Aber ist auch nur Bauchgefühl. Ich hab doch auch keine Ahnung😅

  • Für Trump selbst kann ich mir vorstellen, dass es die Hauptmotivation ist. Soweit ich das beurteilen kann, geht es ihm nur um sich selbst und seinen Bank-Account, alles andere ist für ihn nur Theater. Aber: Er ist unglaublich leicht zu beeinflussen und es gibt andere Figuren die das ausnutzen, die deutlich andere Motivationen haben.

    In seiner ersten Amtszeit ging es auch immer um seine persönlichen Befindlichkeiten, aber die Politik war gemäßigter (relativ zur zweiten Amtszeit), weil er von gemäßigteren Leuten umgeben war.

    Zumindest ist das der Eindruck den ich bekomme.

  • Yeah, it's insane. Usually I don't follow what Trump says 1:1, but read about it in some news article, social media, etc. That is bad enough, but when I actually hear him speak sometimes, I need to cringe so bad... And then I remember a majority of Americans either decided "yep, that guy seems the best option" or "can't see a difference between the candidates" and I lose all hope in humanity.
