  • Gandhi was non violent and unarmed. But he WAS NOT peaceful. His protests were absolutely poison for the colonial economy and he broke several laws and had stints in prison during his time.

  • You can be non-peaceful and be non-violent.

Disturb the fucking peace, you don't need a gun for that. In fact having a gun with you might make things more dangerous.

Nobody is shooting at ICE, weapons do not help. They only make you feel like you are prepared while achieving nothing.

Now, spiking tires with nails, a car breaking down, blocking the street ICE wants to take, punching a nazi... that's way more effective, easy and (slightly) safer.

Fuck "the right to bear arms", you don't need legal weapons, do illegal shit, fuck their peace up. Do not let them sleep, eat or work. Be disturbing the peace, be gay, do crime. You do not need weapons, you don't need violence, you do need to step out of line and stop being peaceful.

    Peaceful can be ignored.

Look to the yellow vests in France for inspiration.

  • The black forest is soooooo beautiful right now! But the castles and the beaches are better during summer.

Hope you get to experience some of it, but also hope it'll be more for a vacation than for seeking refuge.

  • Wasn't capitalism supposed to be about building your own business and creating something of your own?

    Hahahahahaha, good one.

The system is working exactly as intended by those who put it in place. Committing the working class to self-inflicted serfdom for the capitalist aristocracy was always the natural progression. Some variations of the system like Rhine Capitalism or social market economy may slow it down, but the only way to prevent this progression is to continually keep it in check, to keep fighting and continually wrest the power back from wherever it accumulates too much.

But people get complacent, their lives are good and cozy enough to stop fighting, forget their class consciousness... until it suddenly isn't cozy anymore. First only the very poor suffer hard, but it keeps creeping up the social ladder. And when you realize that your own life has stopped being good, you are surrounded by those who are either delusional, don't suffer enough yet, have grown accustomed to it or are clinging to the wrong solutions (like the various flavours of kicking down, i.e. racism, fascism etc.)

  • Peaceful is not the same as non-violent.

Be non-violent, but do disturb their fucking peace, do not let them ignore you.

  • I created a playlist that just makes me happy, it's a colourful mix of old rock (for example: Ram Jam - Black Betty), nerdy stuff (like Bo Burnham, Tom Cardy, Flight of the Conchords), lefty bobs (ex.: ZSK - Antifascista, Ska-P - Colores) and old cartoon themes (Arabian Nights, Ducktales, TNMT) with lots of quality german stuff (Seeed, Wir sind Helden, Knorkator), many epic rap battles of history and some really gangster british drill rap with a twist (like Pete & Bas).

It's just... I don't know, the songs are mostly upbeat, funny and energetic. I used to be mostly a metal guy, but with age came the conclusion that whatever makes me happy and gives me some energy to get through the slog of the day is just... good.

  • "Power isn't granted it is taken."

Holds true today, if we want power over our governments, we can't just ask politely.

  • As are non-violence and peaceful.

You can be non-violent, without being peaceful.

  • People tend to buy guns and then do nothing. Buying the gun makes them feel safe and like they have done something. "When they come for me I'll be prepared."

When they come for you, it's already too late. Earlier, far less dangerous, far less provocative, far less illegal (but still illegal) acts of resistance are far superior in what they achieve. Become active to protect the people they go to before they come for you, or else there will be no one left to protect you when they come for you.

Build community, waste their time, waste their resources, make their operations impossible not through armed resistance but through simpler, less flashy means.

They will try to sue you, jail you, hurt you, maybe even kill you... but that's part of the plan anyway, better to resist while the actions you can do still have an impact.

This is not a plea against guns, but for action (even simple and small actions).

  • Providing social housing for the homeless is far cheaper than the host of problems having homeless people causes.

The ONLY reason there are as many homeless people as there are, is to use them as a warning example against the working class "This would be your fate if you aren't obedient wageslaves!"

    Hosted Server + VPN: 21,89 €Replacing Subscriptions worth: 29,97 €

    Instantly worth it.

But I only have 2TB of storage, so nothing is archived and the server isn't strong enough to stream to more than one device, so no sharing with anyone else. This is exactly why I am thinking about switching to self-hosting as soon as my ISP has completed laying fiber in my street and then that calculator comes in handy.

  • Thanks!

  • Yes, even the guards who treat the prisoners well and really try to make life easier for them are still part of a machine that kills and help perpetuate the system.

Doesn't mean we don't need those who try to change the system, but at some point you have to recognize that much of modern policing is undeniably broken and is basically unfixable from within and by reform alone.

At some point you gotta tear it all down, get rid of the spoiled bunch and rebuild from the ground up using the good apples and putting in place better mechanisms to effectively weed out the bad ones.

And my personal opinion is that this will never stop. Institutional power will try to isolate the institution from criticism and consequence, so from time to time these institutions have to be replaced. Human nature will always find the loopholes, the easy way, the trick to feel oneself powerful and superior. And so after some decades... everything will be borked again.

This is imho sadly the reality of the statistics of jobs that come with power over others and the kind of people this power attracts more strongly than it does the people you'd actually want in such a job.

  • Isn't PieFed explicitly written to make votes anonymous again? Or am I thinking of something else?

  • Over exaggerated counter example: I guess not all concentration camp guards were evil, wicked people, yet they still participated in a wicked, evil system that oppressed, incarcerated, enslaved and killed people.

Which makes them evil, wicked people.

You do not have to be a bad person or do evil yourself to be a bastard. Your support or even acceptance of a bad system is enough.

Which means all cops are bastards through their participation.

  • So in a way it IS a cop pulling a gun!
