  • I can definitely see why you'd like it so much. Honestly, it could release today with more modern graphics and I think it'd fit right in. It barely feels like an ancient game.

I'm enjoying the game much more than I initially expected. I like that you need to constantly be careful, because you cannot heal easily. Looking forward to learning the lore and playing next games!

  • It's been a lot of fun so far. Very impressive for a 2008 handheld game. The plot isn't amazing, but still better than I expected. The distortion world was crazy and I totally didn't see anything like that coming.

However, as a newcomer to Pokémon, at times I felt a little overwhelmed with the various mechanics (e.g., underground, contests) and skipped them for the most part. Of course, being an NDS game, it's a little clunky, but that didn't really bother me.

I probably should have started with an even earlier game, but at the same time I didn't want to go as far back as GBA, since even without those all the games will take me a long while to complete. Now that I'm approaching the end, or at least I think I do, I'm definitely going to go back and properly try everything.

Can't wait to see what other Pokémon games are like. I've read that HeartGold/SoulSilver is often considered the best game. I'm also hyped for X and other 3DS ones, even if they're not that good, because I'm loving the 3D effect.

  • Just recently got a 3DS for the first time. Currently playing through some NDS and GBA games before I get to their 3DS sequels. Almost done with Castlevania: Circle of the Moon and Pokémon Platinum (which will also be my first finished Pokémon game).

Great use of a 3DS, I know. But I like to explore game series from the beginning, or reasonably close to the beginning. Also getting an R36S for a more accurate Game Boy experience.

  • No offense to anyone, but to me MacOS feels like an operating system designed specifically for mentally deficient, disabled toddlers. So much 'time saving' in the background it's actively wasting my time.

  • Ah yes. Another episode of the 'neurodivergent people are actually normal and it's neurotypical people who are weird' series.

  • This is one of the most capitalist takes you'll ever see on lemmy. I wonder if this person is a landlord or has landlords in the family...

  • (...) we need to make sure we're being fair to the rest of the team (...)

Let everyone go early then, fucker

  • Nobody wants to admit this, but you didn't own your Windows 8/7/Vista/XP PC either. Or any of the previous iterations, or any MacOS devices.

It was just less noticeable and invasive. Same idea, same process, but simply closer to 'in early development' than to 'final build'.

Windows 11 isn't the problem. The problem started long before at least half of us were even born. Until recently most ignored it, because it 'wasn't that bad'. Then it got really bad.

  • Ads in general, sure. They work wonders, even on people who consider themselves immune to advertisement.

The post is about targeted ads, however. Do they really offer any substantial advantage? Let alone one worth all the data harvesting? Probably not.

  • Who would have guessed the moron with no real education, knowledge or experience in any profession, whose companies barely make it despite all the unfair advantages you can think of, is clueless just like he has been every day for the last 54 years of his life.

  • If he's really building a nuclear bunker, then it's pretty much a confirmation that he'll not be leaving office in 2028.

It'll not be finished before 2027. There's no way he's building a bunker to potentially use within a maximum time frame of 2 years.

Not to mention it's another sign that his administration is preparing for a war involving nuclear weapons. Which nobody but the USA is capable of igniting. So, yeah... Great times ahead.

  • Usually I don't judge an organization by their profits, since it isn't very indicative of its products' and/or services' value.

But yeah, in this case it makes sense and is absolutely hilarious.

  • Just stumbled upon this community and it is now my new favourite.

  • It should be noted that a lot of 'unknown' and even 'unsupported' games work just fine, so it's hard to say what the actual number of 'playable'+ games is.

As an example - Resident Evil 5 is currently marked as 'unsupported', but works flawlessly out of the box. So far I've played for about 15 hours and the experience has been perfect.
