  • I just bought them from Harbor freight. I put links on the printables page to what I used, but they're 6 inch cart wheels, you can get them lots of places. The scad file is parameterized so you can modify it to fit whatever wheels and pins you find.

  • Dang, that would be sick. I can't imagine the amount of abs warping on furniture size prints though.

  • Do it! I was thinking it could go in a redbull soapbox car races haha. It would be steer by swinging!

  • Haha, this was just printed on my voron. Although a giant garage printer would be pretty cool.

I printed this in ASA to help with the heat. No scientific stress testing but I've been using it for a week or so without issue. And with this print orientation it should be strong enough, since the forces are perpendicular to the layer lines. If it does break, the hammock would drop maybe an inch so I'm not worried.

  • Yup, exactly this. And with the tear drop holes, there's no need for support material in this orientation.

  • 3DPrinting @lemmy.world

Designed & printed a bracket to mount wheels on my hammock!

  • Definitely a very low chance for chrome or Firefox to bug it out, but there's tons of apps out there that could break it. Like how many sketchy "PC cleaner" applications are out there? Those could definitely cause weird issues. I love to hate on Microsoft as much as anyone, but without context on what the user was doing prior to seeing this error, this just seems like normal error handling to me.

  • Playing devils advocate here. If there was a bug when chrome/Firefox/whatever tried to set the default browser, wouldn't the most logical action to reset the default back to edge, instead of leaving it in a weird bugged out state?

Can I hire a landscaper to design and plan but build it myself?

  • This post made me try again to find a solution, and maybe a USB extension cord with a on/off switch could work. It's not automated but would be more convenient than removing the dongle each time. I'm thinking something like this

  • I have this exact same problem, but with a Chevy bolt. Some cars USB ports are "always on" and some aren't. Might be worth trying different ones and see if there's a port that doesn't power on randomly. This didn't work on my car, but it's a common solution I came across when I was trying to figure it out. For now, I've just reverted back to wired AA.

  • They should use Lithium Iron batteries for a real LiFe pro tip

  • The yacht was a bad example. What I'm getting at is that not hating something is not the same as supporting it. I don't support Dave doing this, but I don't hate him for doing it either.

  • Yeah, I can see how it could be seen that way. I'm thinking more along the lines of "Dave performs for money. Someone wants to pay a lot of money for a special performance, and it doesn't affect any of his other shows so of course he would do it". IMO what Dave did isn't unethical, but I can see how it could be seen that way. But I also think if the article was "Amazon Execs bought a multi million dollar yacht after massive layoffs", no one would be blaming the yacht manufacturer. Just the execs.

  • Eh, all he did was accept money to do exactly what he does: play a concert. Now if he canceled other concerts just for this, that would be a different story IMO. The Amazon execs would just buy a yacht or something instead if Dave declined.

  • Dogs @lemmy.world

    Experience with board and training?

  • It's not a "worse" display. It's a different display. The only point is that if you want an e-ink phone (either for readability or battery life) this is one of the only options. Assuming it actually launches at least.

  • I know with the v4 tesla chargers that has the adapter built in, non-teslas couldn't use them until the manufacturers made an agreement. Maybe it's the same here? Where you can get an adapter and if your car brand has already made the deal with tesla you're good to go. Unless Ford put software in their adapter to only work on ford's.

  • I think it's because someone who takes enough Road trips to use something like that would properly just get a regular plug in hybrid. That being said, this might be coming soon for ev trucks actually. The dodge ram ev is going to have a gas powered range extender, and I believe ford has patented a bed mounted version for its ev truck.
