  • I did setup Audiobookshelf via normal apt in the command line. I also have docker for other things, but this time I wanted to try things the normal way to see. It wasn’t bad. It created a config file that has two lines in /etc and I just created a folder in /srv and and dumped the files there and pointed the client to it. Still experimenting with it and a client app called “Audiobooth”. Not bad so far.

  • Yes, the wife is hardcore iPhone. That’s all she used her whole life. I’ve setup Audiobookshelf and it’s not bad. Kinda looks like jellyfin in a way. Still experimenting

  • Ha. That sounds like a good idea. Never thought about it that way.

  • Bro, god damn. I have two Samsung watches and neither is supported 🤦🏽. They’re both older, too.

  • I read in both, Arabic (my native) and English. Some books are very hard for me to understand in English so I find an Arabic copy and read it. Example, The Count of Monte Cristo was very hard to grasp in English. Then I read it in Arabic and it was the best novel I’ve ever read.

I never read Stephen King books in Arabic, because doing so loses that Stephen King way of storytelling which is one of the best. He has a way of writing that no translation gives justice.

I also like to keep my native language in check so I don’t forget it.

  • You can do movies and shows and also music if you don’t go full blown 4k and it’s only you. Navidrome would run on a potato for music. lol

  • Man, I have an intel iGPU myself, in a little Dell optiplex 7090 and it was a breeze on my Debian sever. Installed through apt and it’s running as a systemd service. No issues so far. Only one issue I had was when I played a 70GB 4k HDR movie that’s loaded with audio and subs and picture enhancements on my OLED TV. The server’s little fan was screaming and the movie kept pausing every 20 seconds. Other than that I have a ton of other movies and shows and I have no issues.

  • Don’t even mention it. I have real world experience in that area 😂

  • Very cheap. Just kidding. Fuck that shit

  • Maybe I can. The only thing you know about me is my username 😂

  • And how much will that cost? Sounds like something fantastic for my Jellyfin server. I’ll have all the 4k HDR I can get my hands on.

  • Omfg. I love you. 😭. I tried this very last week to make it work through their workaround and it never wanted to work out. Thank you so much bringing this up.

  • I don’t think I will ever be able to use anything but KDE. Tried every last one of them and this is the only one that clicked for me. On the steam frame, your interaction with KDE shouldn’t be significant since you’re mainly using this thing to play your games. So, I wouldn’t worry about it too much if I were you.

  • Run both apps from terminal and do the drag and drop and see what it tells you.

  • I appreciate the effort, but I meant for the question “what kind of Linux user are you?”

  • Are there options to choose from?

  • What’s this post supposed to mean? I’m actually confused.

  • Saves and unskippable cutscenes are my enemy. Once a game doesn’t allow me to save whenever I wanted to, and skip cutscenes, I’m done with it. Latest one that pissed me off so bad on both ends is Indian Jones and the great circle. For fuck’s sake, I’m here to play a game, not watch a movie. I don’t care about the cutscenes one bit. Let me skip them. Those who want them can have them. It’s insane. It also doesn’t let you save and won’t save until you change places. It was the most annoying shit I’ve dealt with. I just don’t play it anymore.

  • I never said that.

  • Technofeudalism. Great book by Yanis Varoufakis. He called it and it’s actually happening.
