  • lasers??

  • Boomers, use words.

  • Dukat Livingston Seagul

  • The M-5 Multitronic System will save us

  • That's impossible!

    No. It's necessary.

  • How about we get "Universal Basic Income", to respect all the unpaid work?

That'd make my choice of not using Excel (at the expense of risking not getting work) more worthwhile.

... And surviving genocide when welfare was stripped away, fraudulently re-labelling as "fit to work", killing over 130,000 disabled people in Britain from 2010 to 2019, a more worthwhile struggle too.

Otherwise, it seems even if AI does not take jobs, most work done with AI will be unpaid.

  • Microsoft CEO warns that we must 'do something useful' with AI or they'll lose 'social permission' to burn electricity on it

<Insert AI generated video of Microsoft CEO dancing around with willies on his head>

  • You seek Jamaharon?

  • I was about to work that out but then I decided its not worth working out, and just pulled out my phaser.

  • Well said.

  • Yep. The stone faced psychopath look, quite unbecoming.

    Love the ageing gracefully.

And how many hundred years old does she need to be to get those wrinkles?

And medicine regressed such that she needs glasses??

  • the diversity and acceptance of people in the academy is just uplifting.

That would have been weird if Star Trek stopped doing diversity and acceptance, as it has done as a defining characteristic of it since it started. ... Oh wait, but, quite the opposite of uplifting, the bullying and lack of acceptance, largely because of diversity, did seem to happen. How weird.

    Glasses

So, is she allergic to Retinax too?

    No weird fucking dumb drama

I don't think we were watching the same thing.

episodes that have beginner middle and end.

    Did you mean "beginning"?

High praise indeed... stories follow the structure of stories. Heh.

and of course the doctor singing opera

Seemed like a contrived shallow desperate ploy to make it likeable.

But this one hits all the good I loved in the 1990s series.

90s trek being my favourite era of Star Trek too, I did not see that at all. No resemblance at all to anything good as far as I could see. Quite the contrary. An painful offensive affront, densely, consistently, throughout.

We must have been watching different things.

  • ::: spoiler spoiler Starfleet Academy sucks.

  • There was barely enough room for one.

    Even on Deep Space Nine...

"Perhaps in the end, it'll be all of you that have to adapt to me."

... He says having just moved his quarters to the Defiant.

  • Oh.

From that title, I wondered if this was about a Linux distro respin themed with Lwaxana Troi.

  • shiny shit

  • I've not been using abbreviations yet.

I had no idea abbr was that powerful, that deep, that dynamic, that scriptable.

I thought it was just static simple abbreviations.

    Great demonstration of abbr's potential.

Lights up your mind with ideas?

  • Who's the next scapegoat puppet they have lined up?

  • But... you are using your body.
