  • Rather than the "Easiest way", how about a good way...

How about we make a nice world to bring folks to. Y'know... end manufactured scarcity, stop using people as pawns on the grand chessboard, stop conjuring precarity to cull and terrorise people by, and so on. Y'know? How about have a neat world for kids to come to? ... no more economic migrants under duress... Everybody happy.

"Let's figure out this food/air deal, OK? 'K. I'm just weird, you know? How about have a neat world for kids to come to?" ~Bill Hicks

  • I'm saying spaceships for everybody.

  • Liberalism

Ahhhh. I remember the days, several versions of newspeak ago...

  • Real sysadmins use butterflies.

  • Huh?

    I don't think that's how that works.

Wouldn't that reduce testosterone and increase estrogen?

  • This is brilliant.

    But I like this.

    Yus. Perfect meme. Well said.

  • Nobody want to reimplement x11 from scratch, but exisiting implementation is borked

And now we have a working actively developed fork of Xorg because the corporation wanted to end it. Xlibre.

And we have an implementation of X11 from scratch, in Zig, being made. Pheonix

  • Wouldn't that be a matter for your window manager?

  • Plenty life in X11 yet.

    Xlibre running around.

    Pheonix on the horizon. (Zig!)

  • Does this include preventing the car itself from using its inbuilt cell phone?

That would prevent yet even more crashes.

  • Thanks.

I'm a neckbeard type of Linux user.

  • Wise. Keep what little sanity and composure and faith in humanity you have left.

  • SNW just seems more like a retread of TOS with Captain Pike

From what very very little I've seen of SNW, it seemed to break the established universe. E.g.: the illogical irrational hyper-emoting vulcans.

I've failed to force myself to keep watching past the first appearance of that.

  • Stick to true trek.

    Maybe even explore the books.

  • SNW or Picard... is like choosing which form of torture. How about just "no".

I have yet to watch SNW past the point where the illogical irrational emotional vulcans first appear.

Picard, I endured the lot. Kept trying really really hard to like it, because it has Jean Luc Picard in it. Kept trying really really hard to suspend disbelief and ignore all the dumb. Kept trying to tell myself it had redeemed itself a little bit for season 3. But no. You're right. Cannot build a sound house on such swampy sloppy ground.

It's not trek. None of the Kurtzman dross is trek. Roddenberry spinning so fast in his grave, hook up a dynamo, and we could power a warp drive.

I do wish someone would confront the makers of the Kurtzman crap with the idea "what if all art is a tool of manifestation", and let them face the horror of what they've done.

  • I don’t remember any of Lexx

See? Like I just replied further up...

Lexx is like a bad salvia trip and being roofied.

  • crack

    Shrooms

Lexx is more like a bad salvia trip and being roofied.

  • Leek.

    Spell your homophones correctly please.

  • This seems circular and spurious...

... Or maybe I'm not getting some allusion you're making...? Can you elaborate on that?

  • Exactly.

While reading the replies, I was hoping someone would make that analogy.
