Same great Dharma, new Fediverse packaging!

Check out DharmaCurious.org for ramblings on philosophy and the occasional creative writing project!

  • I imagine it was probably larger before it was... Dried out.

Also, 8 inches by 2 inches is pretty fucking large. I say this as someone who has had 8 inches back there.

  • When you say export, is there a tool for that for, like, mass exporting your subs? Or do I have to manually search each one and sub again?

I ask because I've been meaning to switch to my alt, but I made a point of subbing to as many communities as possible to make Lemmy more fun to use for me, and good lord, it's a lot to do.

  • Imagine if it just gets a leak in the head and you don't realize. Queef/fart from hell afterwards.

  • Meat.

    Jump
  • note to self: visit Germany soon

  • Probably should have mentioned I use the air fryer to reheat most things. I have a microwave, but it doesn't get a lot of use anymore. I don't actually have a proper range/oven anymore.

  • Maybe you can answer one for me, too. I'm not a coder or really great with computers. I use Linux because of the philosophy behind it/political reasons, and because I really love the look and feel of Gnome, and it has just about everything I need. I dual boot Windows in case my college has some program I absolutely have to have, and I'm too dumb to figure out virtual machines and wine.

Do you think Linux phones are ever going to be a viable option for someone like me? I use my phone for browsing Lemmy, gps, streaming/YouTube, audiobooks, et cetera. I don't have a lot of niche use cases, but I also don't have a lot of understanding on how to do certain things myself. I can use a terminal if I can copy/paste or have a guide.

  • Honestly, almost everything. I like most food better as left overs. Especially if it's hot/spicy. It tends to get spicier overnight. Also marinara based foods do really well, like lasagna, manicotti, spaghetti, et cetera.

My favorite has to be our way of doing taco meat. A bunch of diced tomatoes (normally canned, sometimes fresh), and diced chili peppers, like jalapeños, poblanos, hatch chilis, habaneros, et cetera, spices and ground beef. Lightly fry the corn tortillas and eat. But I always make enough to have the next day, because after it's sat overnight, it's so much better.

  • I love the idea of an officiant with total free reign. "You may now kiss... The grooms mother on the cheek. ... Just playing, y'all. They gonna dance. Dance, boys!"

  • Good use for it! My best friend is a former Baptist preacher who still occasionally preaches at different churches, and he likes to use it whenever that comes up.

Mind if I ask if it was a religious ceremony?

  • Question. I am a computer dumb. Is this scary for me? Lol.

  • 10 years ago me and my mom worked jobs from home. I did CenturyLink (phone company) and HSN and QVC. She did dish network, directv and Eddie Bauer. It was easier then to find wfh jobs than it is now. Then it was unusual, but no stigma. Now it's like you're an evil clown bent on molesting the village's sheep if you even suggest it. -_-

  • Came here looking for someone to have quoted this. I quote it to bigots all the time and it straight pisses them off.

  • "I'm vegan, except for meat, because the meat industry already exists, so the cow is already dead. When the meat industry stops existing I'll stop eating meat. That's veganism."

  • But an excellent band name. Imagine "chemo for the soul" by Living Drugs, feat. 4skin

  • Commiserate? Not quite right, but almost there. I get what you mean, though. Back in wide eyed "the democratic party is wonderful and flawless!" days as a teenager I used to think of Canada as this sort of perfected image of what the US could be. When I found out they had their own shit, and much of it just American shit imported north, I felt terrible knowing others were going through these same battles, but it made me feel less alone, if that makes sense.

  • I'm not a power user or anything, and don't understand most of the things in computing. I'm a basic user with mostly basic needs. But the only thing that ever gets me back on windows is when my college requires a program specific to a class. Linux is just freaking better, even at the very basic, mostly doing browser based shit level.

  • I've made it a point to use it whenever i would use ? And ! Together. It's the best punctuation mark, and i want it to catch on so badly. Plus the name of it makes me guffaw and I dont know why.

  • Yes. But smaller, and with a screen where the keyboard should be, and no bezel between the screens. Media consumption device, not something for any real productivity. Very lightweight, good for watching youtube or hulu, but clamshell so it protects the screen.
