  • Idk if proton allows you to download config files on a free account but if they do then you could use those to manually split tunnel your local internet

Edit: if they don't then the "most secure" (and cheapest) option is to pay for a VPN that allows Lan connections

  • I don't plan to access it anywhere but home

Okay so what's all this faffing about for? Just don't open it up to the internet and access it with your servers local ip address on your home network

  • Idk proton ge just worked for me and I followed this guide to get content manager and all the other goodies working properly

  • I can personally attest that assetto corsa works, and according to protondb iracing is the only sim that doesn't work. Automobilista 2 not only has a native port but also works under proton, and Lego racers (I'm assuming you're talking about Lego 2k drive?) works and has a platinum rating

  • As far as I know, no wheels are natively supported on Linux (running the windows driver in wine doesn't work) and we have to rely on community made drivers for ffb. It seems like your wheel does have community support, just follow the instructions and you should be good to go. You can also fine tune your wheel with Oversteer

  • Why are you down with #3 but not #2? The way I'm reading it, #2 necessarily has to happen before #3

  • If you prefer we could make it one wide panel

  • You lose a bit of functionality but you can use it for free

  • I'm sorry, the what gene?

  • Can someone fill me in on why this is funny

Welcome to the self hosted world friend. Also, your friend is going to need to download Tailscale also if they want to connect to your computer

  • I personally don't really use physical media anymore but I can't imagine it's going away anytime soon

  • I too wish I was skilled at kissing girls

  • I'm willing to admit that I only hold this opinion because I played the game when I was 10 very much not good at it, but this has got to be one of my least favorite maps of all time

  • 12 fingers lmao

  • For torrenting purposes only, vpn doesn't really matter as long it properly hides your ip (even the overpriced ones that don't actually respect privacy)

Proton is still a good recommendation as long as you pay for premium, but I've started using airvpn since the proton ceo started getting weird. Mullvad is also good, but doesn't allow port forwarding, which isn't the end of the world but could have some negative effects (at least one person needs a forwarded port for you to connect to each other, and if you're not forwarding yours, you're relying on other people to forward theirs)

Tldr: proton is good, just pay for it. Airvpn and mullvad are also good

  • Wow I wish I had this a year ago. One thing though: a proton free account should not be used for torrenting as they don't allow p2p connections. If you're going to torrent, pay for your vpn
