  • If that's what you prefer, may I recommend the place Where Life Makes Sense instead of "worse Winnipeg"?

  • I would like to think that it's him admitting that he needs to grow up, but he's always been a rich person pretending to be poor, so it's more likely he's trying to get false cred from Billy the Kid.

  • Yeah, I think Lemmy and Mastodon should be made even more separate than they are currently, they are different platforms with different styles, goals, and uses.

  • New Line isn't one of the "major studios", so Torch Song is out, and I'm not sure that Birdcage is a romcom.Maurice, Trick, and The Broken Heart's Club, are also older and much better than bros, but not major studio releases.

But all of these movies are watchable, so they're better than Bros.

  • My current group of players has only played Starfinder, Stars without Number, Cities without Number, Vampire the Masquerade (V5), and some one-shot games like Quiet Year.

I don't want to run or play D&D, so I don't. If needed, we could always hang out without playing a game.

  • They aren't saying it's the first electric train, they are saying it's the first all electric "Giga Train".

It's like how Bros kept trying to imply it was the first gay movie, or even first gay romcom, but it was the first gay romcom that was created and released by a major studio whose initial release was a "wide" release in more than one country.

  • The idea is that it's the base for things like a dump truck, a gravel hauler, small firetruck, or other large commercial vehicle.

If anyone is driving one around as a form of transportation, they are probably avoiding therapy.

  • I think she's complaining about how humans on foot have become an afterthought for some, as well as the danger and unpleasantness of standing in a line for cars.

  • There are things that you can do at an ATM that you can't do at some banks, or will have shorter overall wait times.

You can't always walk into a small credit union and withdraw money/deposit cash from a bank account with a different institution, but you can do that at their ATMs.

  • You need to use a carot/arrow on both sides of the word to use superscript on lemmy.

    ^this^ becomes this

Edit: Header removed: maybe we shouldn't encourage the use of headers.

  • Not clickbait at all.

Wet-bulb is the combination of heat and humidity, and it is deadly in 6 hours. The article is about the first time they have lab tested the conditions on humans to determine the exact numbers, instead of just using the 35C estimate that we have been using.

  • I think the banker teller in the story was talking about a drive-through ATM, not a drive-through teller.

So in order to do something that the teller can't/won't do, she would need to stand between cars, which is dangerous.

  • Reader mode of Firefox helped me be able to read the content of the article, despite the unacceptable layout.

Here's the short version:Wet-bulb weather is when, because of a combination of humidity and heat, you can't naturally cool off with things like sweat. There are certain combinations where the weather only needs to be 25.8C for a health younger person, or 21.9C for an elderly person for "wet-bulb" to be achieved.Climate change is real, and it's causing more instances of "wet-bulb" weather.Outside activities may not be possible in the summer in certain parts of the world, people will die, the rich will move.

  • That doesn't make it any less awful.

Thankfully, a lot of browsers have a reader mode to undo such sins.

  • That's some awful website design.

  • It definitely looks like it's solid enough for a bed, but it doesn't look like it's solid enough to hang a sling from or tie up a fella to.

  • Do transactions involving an account not held by the bank.

  • There are drive-thru's that are just a single ATM, no teller windows, no employees. They're peak "lazy-entitled human"

  • You can use cards from other banks, credit cards, and even some prepaid cards at an ATM. You may be able to do some things with the machine that the teller can't/won't do.
