  • Part of a temp ban I got (night have been my other account I don't use anymore) was because I ignored that my other comments were removed and continued an argument.

    How was I supposed to know my comments were removed? There was no warning or anything, no notification about removals, nothing. Only saw the comments I was responding to as they popped in.

    Doesn't REALLY matter, I deserved it, but it would be nice to actually be appropriately warned before catching a ban when a warning was implied.

  • Got lucky I suppose, as "lucky" as waiting or someone to die so you can live can be. They did warn me it could be weeks before I hear anything.

    edit- I was also pretty high priority (or whatever it might be referred to as) being in my early 30's when it happened, not a drug user, and generally take good care of myself.

  • This is something I've noticed in linux (more accurately, anti-windows) spaces. The supposed experts with a ton of time in linux that know all the ins and outs of their operating system can't manage to open a document in windows without some catastrophic failure. Nothing ever works for them outside of linux.

  • I went to a casino once because my roommate at the time wanted to go for a bit. He even spotted me $10 because I had no cash on me. Turned that $10 in to $40, paid back the roommate and left with the $30 and never went back.

  • My last job was retail, worked there is different areas for 13 years. Took some pride in outlasting a bunch of shitty managers that kept trying to do anything they could to get me fired or to quit, never knew why, but they were never able to fire me, so I can only assume they were trying to cut down on full-time positions.

    Ended needing to quit because I couldn't find a new place to live in my area after my previous landlord decided to stop renting the place. Gave them 2 weeks notice and they started treating me even shittier, so I bailed on the day we were supposed to do inventory. Kinda fucked them over, but I didn't give a shit anymore. I'm never going to work for them again anyway, even if I kept that door open.
