I don't read DMs.

  • First I tried Ubuntu. Then I tried Mint.

Two years later, still on Mint. It works, it doesn't spy on me, I'm good.

  • I don't trust government because of the things I know my government has done.

If you don't trust your government, then perhaps instead of just saying "American problem", list the things you know your government has done.

  • There's a list, start reading. You won't be taught this in school, you need to educate yourself. I suggest doing it now, before the resources start to disappear, which could happen any day now.

  • Whatever it takes.

  • I have very clear memories of my grandparents house in Michigan. I only visited three times, but I explored that house top to bottom when I was around nine years old. I also remember where it was in town, and how to walk to the main street from the house. It's a very small town, to this day, fewer than 800 people.

The thing is, when I look at Google maps, nothing looks quite right. I'm not sure I've found the right house, the house that looks right isn't in the right spot, etc. Main Street looks right, and the drug store is still there, but the rest is wrong. It's been 50 years, and you might think, 'well, of course, everything has changed', but it's a very small town, and all the houses and yards look old, there's practically nothing new in town. No spot where the house might have been, but is now something newer. It looks like a town stuck in the 1940s.

    Anyway, I prefer my memories.

  • So glad Win 10 was the last one for me.

  • I'm just going to believe this is a troll, because I'm tired of realizing some people are actually this dumb.

  • How would this attack "undermine popular support for Iran's military establishment"?

I think one of the reasons for this was to stir up protests here in the U.S., so they have an excuse to take over the mid-term elections, and perhaps start marshal law.

  • I used to have a bread machine about that size.

  • Eventually, they end up at a thrift store, methinks.

  • A true hacker, learning as he goes. I'm glad he didn't keep at that final tree boss.

  • "I" before "e", except after "c". Literally the easiest rule to remember because it's alliterative. And, yes, I know it's far from complete, but it would have worked here.

    Good to know.

  • Well, maybe these assholes need to follow through on their pledge to defend the Constitution, and speak the fuck up and refuse to follow illegal orders.

  • If they start drafting kids, that will be the end of whatever support he has left among boomers. Boomers fought in Vietnam, many of them were drafted, and voted for "no new wars". Trump is notoriously a draft dodger, which they chose to ignore but, I think they won't be ignoring that anymore.

  • The workers are labeling objects in the recordings, lamps, TVs, etc., to train AI.

I wrote a short sci fi story once, with something similar. A child has virtual friends in AR that are supposed to be fully AI and private--installed on a local machine with no outside connection. The machines are AI, but do have hidden connection to workers overseas who monitor a few kids at a time and intervene when the AI "gets confused". Things don't go well.
