  • I always tried to buy games from them instead of steam when possible, but since proton and the steam deck... Not so much. I don't know if that's a trend, but in my opinion they have to do something about this.

  • Are you assuming Tux's gender?

  • Nah, wine prefixes are good

  • 95 wasn't good. That's when the "just format C: and reinstall windows" tradition started. I had to do that to my computer at least yearly until 2000 came along.

  • That's how the matrix started!

  • You don't own proprietary software. When you allow it access to your computing resources, you can just hope it does what you want it to do, the way you want it to.

Sounds like a bonkers extremist position, and in a way it is, but it's also true.

  • Distribution choice makes a lot of difference, but they're not wrong, manufacturers just don't write drivers for Linux. Sure, we've got AMD, Intel, and even nVidia (fuck nVidia btw) writing theirs, but peripherals are way more hit or miss.

Phil Katz, what a sad story

  • Mine lived in the original cardboard boxes

  • I heard you were dead

  • tut-tut

  • Can you really picture a cop physically intervening, being pushed aside, and saying “sorry, my bad”?

I mean, if the other guys scare them...

  • the nation they dedicated their lives to protecting just burns down around us.

The US hasn't needed protection from anything in a long time. What they've been protecting is the US' economic interests, spending trillions on armaments to attack those who can't defend themselves while people back home die of curable illnesses. They're not your paladins, they're the enforcers of your ruling class.

  • That's the reason why I bought a 13 despite coming from multiple touch-screen laptops

  • Real-time collaboration is fairly useful, you can have a videocall or meeting while discussing changes to a document and making them together
