I’m not a doctor, I won’t try to diagnose him, but I think the real atrocity is his “friends” not intervening and getting him help and instead apparently cheering him on and hoping he would succeed in this ridiculous experiment.
The Western Evangelical killed that concept. Jesus forgave everyone, so no effort is required on your part to gain forgiveness. No sorry, (except maybe a performative one) no effort to change, just claim Jesus got it for you. Even the Bible indicates that you have to make an effort to make ammends and work to change yourself.

It’s kinda weird, but I think I have a more minor aphantasia? Like, I hallucinate, sometimes vividly, but when I’m trying to visualize something, I just see blackness, sometimes a vague shape in the dark. I do dream, but I usually don’t remember much visual information except sometimes the shapes of things. My other senses, however, I can stimulate pretty much whenever and however I want. I can just say to my brain, “Do I taste blood?” And within a couple minutes, I’ll taste blood.
If what Hamas did on October 7th counts as genocide, then does that mean every single military action carried out by the US against a single country also counts as genocide?

When I was a lot younger and we lived at a different address, they got a streetview picture while I was playing outside, so Mom called and complained and they blurred just me in the picture.

I saw an older fella working at a theme park the other day. He was mopping the restroom and struggling to bend all the way down and pick up paper towels thrown on the ground. No one raised any money for him. I met another woman at a different theme park who worked there for a few decades, working hard hoping to get an easier job when she got older. She wound up with a janitorial job while her body is breaking down. And she hasn’t been able to make enough money to be able to retire, so she just has to keep going. These people are everywhere, and nobody helps the vast majority of them.
