  • I bought a tv like 8 years ago, the day the warranty went it got issues.

Some annoying bullshit (according to google) has to do with magnets and they are all visible now, it looks like shit but i really don't give a damn as i rarely care for what is on as long as it's making sound i don't need to hear the neighbours.

All i could think was: it still works, fuck this company i'm keeping it.

  • I have a different look on this, but it's just the way i see it: if a manufacturer puts a function in your car that requires them to run a server then that server is on them, they put the function in there not me.

I buy the car, it's mine in all it's functionality. If they don't want that, then don't put it in.

  • So is it removed from the appatore yet? Or does it need some motivation?

Can it be flagged or something? That could get it removed.

This shit is pretty fucked up.

  • I'm also aware of the amount of plastic waste that passes through my hands.

The difference here being: i notice what is necessary and how much of it is useless extra added on by the manufacturer for advertisement purposes.

The latter is usually 50% and even as bad as 80% in a lot of cases.

I'm not ashamed, i'm dissapointed they are allowed to keep doing this while i'm forced to make all kind of changes (i use forced because they artificially increase the price to stop us from doing things)

  • A 10h of labour airco will create a vacuum and not keep you cool.

Two hours of labor is like 30 bucks, a bidet on the other hand is at least 10 times that.

An old friend had a funny Dutch thing he used to say: het smoesje is goed, maar het praatje deugt niet. Basically pointing out the fact that you're talking out of your ass.

I have to admit that life indeed has gotten too easy for most, making them lax and unmotivated to live it while blaming "high costs" (bad spending habits). I see loads of people getting excessively priced food deliveries multiple times a week when their wage barely allows to afford it once a month. They will stroll around barely doing any work at all while claiming they are either too smart for their job or deserve a ceo's wage.

Then you wonder when an employer pets them on the back, how businesses are going down left and right when 85% of their workforce consists of these useless beings.

    Rant over.

  • Mine turned into that when it stopped paying enough to provide me with basic needs.

If it's fuck me, then it's fuck all y'all too.

  • I don't know a whole lot about Italy, but being European i'd think they must have a similar baseline as other European countries.

  • I'll thank you ahead of time, i'll checl this out (hopefully) this weekend. It's bookmarked.

  • I keep getting shorts (not anymore i fixed that) when i searched for something and they often feature stuff not related to my search. Like me searching for tubeless bike tire instruction video and the shorts in between are a alien looking dark purple baby and a short where some muslim looking guys are waving a scimitar at a goats neck...like what in the actual fuck does that even do on youtube?

Shorts need to be ended imo, so i blocked them.

  • I think people are afraid to lose what they even, especially when it isn't much.

  • I know, i know...getting rid of tiktok isn't going to rid us of the consequences.

But TikTok definitely seemed to be a whole step on the ladder, so it should have some result i would think.

In a perfect world the internet would become just a tool instead of a species wide addiction.

  • Good, Tiktok has tiktokified enough brains by now.

Let the brains restore and get used to longer form content.

  • Canon understands that selling a printer with a maintenance contract is a viable way to do business...to business.

That's a place where the option is very much appreciated.

  • All i need is to find one, preferably affordable obviously.

Just the thought of being able to use it until the hardware fails, instead of when the maufacturer decides to abandon it after 2 years.

I remember the 20 years i lived at home, we owned 3 tv's and 2 of those were passed on to people who didn't have the money to upgrade. The last one is still in use today, 15 years later.

While my own tv now requires 2 devices to stay functional one of which i need to rent from my isp, in a way i'm being forced to buy a new tv even though i don't need one and then everyone wonders why the planet is going to shit.

I'm surprised we aren't living in a cyberpunk esque landfill bordered city.

  • I just want the short form content out of my life, but your tip might help others who dislike the player and not the video's.

  • This is why everyone should pirate everything that can be pirated.

  • Anything better than listening 3 songs and getting 5 ads.

Stop being trash youtube. Be normal like you once were and i would actually consider a paid subscription IF i get to fully exclude shorts on my side of the platform.

  • I have one that i'm perfectly happy with.

I had some trouble with red switched in the past and guessed right on thinking i needed some heavier springs.

I bought some silent yellow's and 2 sets of pudding keycaps, black and white to mix and match. The letters are white and the numbers + everything else is black.

I don't want to ever replace this keyboard.

  • They saw us get angry at a heating subscription and decided we are tiktok brained idiots who lack the skill to be social with humans and found another potential subscription service justification that causes less anger?
