  • This statement is such a cop out used to justify literally anything.

I’m a right-wing shill and not the person telling people to “enjoy the Trump administration?” I guess having standards and wanting to hold politicians accountable for their actions, politicians who are supposed to be above all this right-wing villainy, especially when those actions lead them to losing control of every branch of the government, is no longer en vogue in the Democratic party. Everything they do is “good” by virtue, and criticism is not tolerated, just like we’re a bunch of MAGA sycophants.

Seems like you guys would rather have the Republicans win elections than ever consider embracing the left that’s supposed to be the backbone of the party.

  • This response reminds me of that of the opponents to stricter gun laws in the US. “Just enforce the laws that are on the books!” is what they say but that obviously isn’t working as we have more and more gun violence to the point that it’s the number one cause of death for those under 18.

What makes you think parents know anything better about social media than their kids? It’s obviously rotting people’s brains all over the planet and some sort of intervention is needed. We’ve made it this long as a species without social media, and yet after a little more than a decade with it, we’re at each other’s throats ready to end the whole experiment.

  • Both of those solutions are the same thing. You need to create collections (or check the “automatically create collections” option) in order to pare down all the movies from being shown directly in the library. You can also create your own smart collections for Genres and Decades in order to make it easier to find something to watch. All these can also be ‘pinned’ to the top of the library by adding special characters to the beginning of the “sort name.”

I’ve also split out my libraries by regular/animated for both TV and movies so Movies, Animated Movies, Television, Animated Television. It works pretty well for me and I have about 3k movies at this point.

  • It’s not that weird. Think of it like paying upfront for “the Cadillac service” where they treat you like a king versus someone else paying for the barebones service where they just do the bare minimum like at a car wash where you can buy different levels of a wash.

The only disconnect here is that tips are typically a percentage of your bill and you don’t necessarily know what that’ll be up-front but you could still commit to a specific percentage.

  • We’re in that position because neither one of these parties is willing to do anything about it. Many people recognize this and just disengage because “what’s the point? We’re screwed either way.”

This time around, both candidates were cheering on genocide, the rich, and anti-immigrant rhetoric which gave the clear advantage to the party with a base that supports these ideals while it predicably backfired for the candidate whose base doesn’t support these ideals.

  • I’d be fine with the tarrif if there was a manufacturer actually trying to compete

What about all the Japanese, Korean, and European brands selling cars here? Is there another market outside of China, where everything is sold well below cost after being built using slave labor and lax environmental regulations, where new cars are as cheap as you want them to be? I think they are competing but the cars are just expensive to build. China is hiding that expense from buyers just long enough for them to try to take over every local market at which time there will be no reason to keep them subsidized because all the competition will be gone.
