Part of the problem is that the divide is more urban vs rural than state by state. We might end up with dozens of city states with all the tech and money, but none of the staples of life and vast tracts of impoverished rural thocracies that can only survive by selling food and raw materials to the city states.
Please hunt down and dishonorably discharge a bunch of combat trained individuals ideologically opposed to the current regime. I see no way that could backfire.
Were the British soldiers killed in the Revolutionary War, or the Rebels Killed in the Civil War, or the Nazis killed in WW2 victims of political violence?
Sometimes a political spectrum becomes stretched so wide that there can be no middle ground. No amount of "spirited debate" is going to reach a compromise about who is due their life and freedom. The wolf and the sheep are never going to agree on what is for dinner.
Charlie Kirk absolutely leaves a legacy of misery and death. He shares blame for Jan 6, mass shootings, and numerous hate crimes. He may have never pulled a trigger himself, but the right wing terrorism he encouraged leaves the blood on his hands just the same.
It might be premature to call it a political killing. After all we don't know anything about the shooter. Maybe he was shot by a parent angry that Kirk molested their child.
Progressives abolished slavery. Conservatives started a civil war to keep their slaves. That is why nearly all the states which were part of the Confederacy always vote Republican.
Its a news story because it is not typical. That being said Berlin has a homicide rate around 1 per 100k people and Chicago has a homicide rate around 21 per 100k people as of 2024. There were 573 homicides total in 2024.
Most of these occur in a small number of chronically impoverished neighborhoods.
The worst neighborhood, Austin, had 47 murders which is more than the safest 23 neighborhoods combined. 428 of those murders were black and 116 were Hispanic.
As you can see there is a decided slant to the data that shows why the Black Lives Matter movement exists. There is more or less a permanent underclass created by racism and failed drug policy.
We need to protest in front of billionaires' homes. We need to remind them that we know where to find them and that no amount of money will make them safe from our numbers if it comes to it. If that doesn't work we need to tear their homes down to the foundations.
There are a whole spectrum of nonmonogamous types of relationships out there. Any relationship will have it's compromise, but what those compromises are is entirely based on you and your partner or partners.
