Sure her early stuff could be considered basic, not that that stopped millions and millions of people connecting with it.
But some of her later albums really surprised me. If you have the time and are interested, Folklore was lyrically interesting and I quite enjoyed "The Last Great American dynasty" specifically.
The headline is doing exactly that. My first reaction was "of course some asshole is, probably a conservative." And then I clued into the photo and recognized the buffoon. If I wasn't a Canadian, or didn't have the picture, or maybe wasn't good with faces, I would have scrolled by not realizing the idiot in question iis the leader of the Conservative Party.
A responsible headline would have said that. It might as well have said "A random white guy from Canada is openly spreading propaganda." I mean it's a true headline right? Not misleading at all.
A show my partner finished production on that apparently the producers decided was "too sad" for their brand. It's the first time either of us has been on a show that finished production (at least shooting side) and never made it. Few times we've started on a show and 3 weeks into prep it gets cancelled before the camera showed up.
It still might get shopped around or whatever, I don't know how these things happen.
Finished. Last 3rd was stronger, but yeah just references to stone cutters and the school uniforms.
The titular moment was alright, but the set construction team apparently didn't have the budget for a double swing kitchen door so that effect was lost. I was very excited to hear the exchange between Skinner and Mother but it was shown in pantomime with a Chalmers soliloquy overlayed.
Not worth 45 minutes, but they nailed a few of the shots (Skinner flashbacking to nam) in composition.
I'm halfway through, started a couple days ago and just haven't had time between work and the Sumo tournament.
Casting was a miss for Skinner I think, and so far I'm not sure if it's really got anything too it it's just Skinner and Chalmers chatting about things that happened (that we know from episodes of the Simpsons).
Now, we haven't got to the good stuff. Chalmers just asked where the term Steamed hams comes from.
This article mentions his roommate/romantic partner, and much later in the article it does say they are trans (later makes sense cause it shouldn't f-ing matter)
I am aware that at this point all "evidence" that isn't publicly verifiable (his Facebook relationships? Multiple friends verifying, ect.) is super suspect as we sadly know this government and the authorities involved will be bending every truth exactly how they please. But that's the info we have right now.
What are your thoughts on his roommate, who was transitioning/his girlfriend?
Please don't take this like the memes "is anybody nearby trans?!?!" But the few podcasts I listen to (and trust to be more or less objective) reported on this, and while it an incredible leap of logic (and absolutely immoral, wrong and disgusting) to then decide Trans people are a terrorist group, does it not imply his ideology wasn't the ultra right winger killing someone for being less right wing?
I probably will regret posting this because frankly it's too depressing and the truth doesn't even matter in regards to the outcomes.... The USA is not OK.
Exactly. There are people who should be fired and even charged for the things they are posting in response to Kirk's death: All the foaming at the mouth rabid brain-dead assholes calling for a civil war/violent response.
That's actually not protected by free speech.
Saying "Charlie Kirk got the death he fought for and the world got a little better for it." Is protected.
I was listening to.. CBC front burner podcast I think? And they mentioned that he has shifted his position on immigrants. He was quoted in the past saying any immigrant who graduated post secondary in the US should have a green card attached to the diploma.
Then some right wing nutjobs were mad about that and we're targetting his events and harrassing him until he fell in line.
So yeah. He will change his mind, if he is bullies enough.
Also I think the group that were harassing his events was Nick Fuentas (spelling?) and now some of the coverage is indicating the shooter might have been a follower of Nick? I'm not sure how confirmed that is so do your own research.
But if it's just right wing nutjobs killing slightly less to the right right wing nutjobs.... Idk man.
I mean from a storage and upload burden. Nobody is watching them (this generation that is being uploaded right now) but each AI is uploading 10x or 100x what a human does and nobodies watching it....
