  • A nat 20 is the best outcome that the character could manage in that situation, if they have no chance of succeeding then the DM should not be letting them roll. If the barbarian suggests mauling a delicate machine with their mace it's down to anyone else in the party (or the DM if they're so inclined) to remind them that actions have consequences.

  • Aww man, the memories of making a garden base for Botania outside my friend's Thaumcraft witch tower, across a river where your could see a Buildcraft quarry running next to someone's industrial complex... Good times!

Tried playing Cobblemon with the idea to make our own themed towns but just like you there doesn't seem to be time for it anymore :(

  • If only we already had physical identification that proves we have the right to work. We could call it a pass-document! Then we don't need to tie it to your phone which is much more likely to be stolen. /S

FFS. I've been trying to avoid engaging with politics on lemmy but every time I learn about something good Labour's done (renter's rights, recycling changes) they announce something stupid to compensate (mandatory age verification (edit: I meant that they won't budge on it, the Tories introduced it), this and whatever the hell "AI" nonsense they're doing).

    I'm just so tired, man.

  • Thank you for taking the time to share your insight, it's definitely worth doing things right rather than rushed. I guess I'm a bit panicked by how fast things went downhill across the pond, but that's probably just social media's American bias shoving it in my face so much.

If this is done properly it could very well be what we need. I'll hold on to hope.

  • It's good to hear they've put a soft deadline on it, but I can't help but think it's wasted time when they could be building recognition with the average person. I hope I'm worrying over nothing.

  • This is what worries me. If they can't even decisively pick a name how are they supposed to unify left wing voters? It does not inspire confidence.

Labour didn't win the last election, the Tories lost because Reform split the vote and they happend to have the next biggest voter base. Now that Labour is losing it and Reform is gaining momentum, Your Party should have chosen a name and gone on the offensive long ago.

  • Bait used to be believable.

  • Paint.NET (note: not their URL sadly) is simple and will get the job done for 99% of your meme needs. I find Krita and alternatives are harder to use for simple edits because they're designed for more complex tasks.

  • There are dozens of us! Dozens!!

I really hope Bigscreen manage to bring the cost down of their small headset because an affordable and comfy one might renew interest. It's still very much an underexplored medium!

  • Hi, someone who does make games here!

Whilst there are some concerns with the interpretability of the movement, the reasoning I have seen pirate software give comes across as disingenuous. He explains the worst possible reading, and dismisses the entire movement rather than help guiding it in the right direction like someone in his position could do.

The real reason people are mad at him is because he made some unnecessarily rude comments about the organiser and the movement as a whole, which was incredibly unprofessional and made a lot of people feel betrayed by openly siding with the same big studios that many people feel cheated by right now.

If you happen to have any questions, feel free to reach out! This is an incredibly passionate subject for both players and developers alike, but a lot gets lost in the crossfire :)

  • I find that most people I talk to had positive opinions of the late queen, but as you said are apathetic towards Charles at best and disturbed by Andrew. Prince William seems to be highly regarded though.

  • When I first started my job, I was really anxious about being seen as "slacking off" whenever there was downtime (which is pretty frequent and can range from 10 minutes to two hours). That made it pretty exhausting, which in turn fed the anxiety because "how can doing nothing wear you out?"

Luckily my colleagues and leads were great people and helped me get more comfortable with it, and I'm really grateful for that.

  • I tend to find it's the other way around. Once you've got a scarf modelled and rigged, it'll work* for all animations, but for animated 2D sprites you have a lot more things to do.

May have visual artifacts like clipping

  • Of course nothing should be inflexible, but I'm just saying there's no reason for every campaign to be derailed completely. If your players are actively going against the scenario something's gone wrong. And yeah, if you give them the opportunity to do something, be prepared for it to happen and roll with the consequences.

Unless you play low level John Does every time, characters should know stuff about the world they've lived in their whole lives. And if none of that ties into the scenario are you playing a campaign or in a sandbox?

  • If everyone's on the same page and wanting to play out a story, seeing how your characters and world changes in response to things not playing out as expected is part of the fun. It should never truly derail unless someone is trying intentionally to, in which case you need to talk about it. Or you got complacent and dangled a campaign altering thing too close for them to resist...

  • This was the last place I expected to see a rant about DbD! There are some trulyawful people in the community, from playing just to waste other people's time to getting into "us vs them" arguments and hurling insults. I'm glad there's a few people who go above and beyond to set good examples.

On topic, I don't get how even if Behaviour retconned characters to be different sexualities impacts our ability to enjoy the game at all. It's not like the pride charms are going to hurt you, lol!

  • I am coping hard for a Kid Icarus: Uprising remake using this. We know Sakurai has been working on something, and I'd hate for it to just be a new smash.

  • They don't need to have an even share of the available space. Give more to the side that needs it.

  • Yep! Specifically Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, remakes of the generation 3 games. It introduced "Primal" forms of the legendaries Groundon and Kyogre which is what you see in the image. It's supposed to be them at their peak power.

  • Windows users could boot into safe mode and modify/delete the problem file. There just wasn't any tool to roll out this fix 'automatically'.

Once IT dealt with it I stopped paying attention to the situation, but I wonder if any tool was created to help the poor souls managing thousands of PCs?
