He’s not just a cameo he’s on the screen so much, he’s the liason between our oil boys and the pencil heads at nasa, and among this entire stacked and varied cast he’s uniquely eating shit. They’re all having stupid exagerated michael bay performance fun except him, he stands out. Could be him could be michael bay not knowing how to work with him. I will add slingblade to my list i feel like that’s the best chance of cracking this code. Only know it from the 30 rock joke, did not know he wrote and directed it, maybe he really is an artiste who sold out hard that’s an explanation.

I did this over the course of the last couple years, never played an RE game before that. I ran through pretty much in order besides the RE1 remake which I saved for last and I’m glad I did cause it instantly became my favorite of the series. If RE1 is your thing you’ll absolutely adore it, if not you’ll probably hate it the tank controls are quite divisive, I didn’t find them to be to difficult to learn. They allow for a very very beautiful and creative visual style where they’re literally composing shots in the way you would for film. It gives a more effective horror movie mood than first person or filling the thing with cutscenes, for me. It’s also a very hard itch to scratch because even the games that are trying to imitate this tank control style (og Silent Hill 2, Signalis (my favorite), Crow Country) do a more floating 3rd person camera than the fixed shots or slight tripod move style stuff that RE1 remake does. While it’s more confusing at the start, I think it helps you navigate better when you’re farther in because you can always recognize where you are from the way the shot is framed. Makes me very depressed that we’ll probably never see a RE game with that style again cause they’ve seemed to settle on third/first person and you’d have to be a lunatic to throw triple a money on tank controls in 2026 (I’d be that lunatic). Unfortunately I think if they remake 1 again, which rumor has it they are, it’ll probably be to convert it to third person, or this third/first thing. RE2 Remake is fantastic and a must play, RE3 Remake also great and shorter than 2. As for the rest, if you like the original RE4 you might like 5 but for me it was a slog with some fun moments of stupid wesker shit. Also pretty racist not just the beginning horde shit people talk about there’s some worse stuff later on. If you can get the coop to work it can be a fun time with a friend. RE6 is one of the worst games I’ve ever played, and so so so long if you want to do all the storylines. RE7 is very good, worth playing. If you really like the first person games (I don’t) you’ll probably like 8 as well, I feel like I didn’t want to replay either of them after playing them once but I did enjoy my time with them.
