  • I've find it hilarious if they were to override this lame duck's veto.

  • Yeah, the idea of being able to sit there, quietly, at your own house and fill out your form at your own leisure and research each proposal is great.

  • Also, if this asshole ends voting by mail in Colorado, there are going to be a whole lot of absolutely LIVID people.

  • Should just be called SAVE PEDOnald Act.

  • The weird thing? He couldn't even do that right. He unleashed more chaos by just announcing the end of pennies. No real planning, no direction given.

I'm rather ambivalent about pennies myself. The claim is that it will save $56 million per year, which is a rounding error in the U.S. budget. Hell, Noem apparently stole $220 million for ads featuring herself cosplaying. I have to wonder what it ends up costing the average American, though. And it seems it has unleashed some real chaos for retailers.

  • Same. I think the delta is "Israel", though.

  • I'm thinking the magatards who cannot even remember what they said they stood for yesterday have permanent erections from things like: fighting "woke", crushing any remaining dissent in media and entertainment, bombing fishing boats, starting a war with Iran, threatening most of our allies, and most of all, kidnapping and disappearing brown people while shooting protesters.

Will it do them any good at all? Nope. If they were living in a trailer and eking out a miserable existence before, they still will be. It will most likely be even more miserable since things like food and health have been ripped away from many Americans. But at least they get to whoop it up over breaking the country and making others' lives miserable.

  • Yeah, I remember some knob during college - the typical douchebro that so obviously peaked in high school; I'm not sure if he actually finished his degree (I think it was in criminal justice?). Anyway, he was no longer in school, but still attending some parties because he was friend of a friend of a friend. I think he might have been in some kind of training to be a cop. My friends were throwing a party, and many people had hooked up/wandered off with their SO, etc...

I was not there but everyone that was relayed how this guy at about 1am or so was saying how he'd go out to his car and get his handcuffs and arrest some people that he took issue with. He was threatening people with arrest over some drunken disagreement at a party. Needless to say, this dude and the people still affiliating with him were cut out of future party invites.

Pete Hegseth very much has that guy's energy, only way more power given to him. I'm also reminded a bit of Alex's droogs that go into the police force in A Clockwork Orange.

  • I remember most of the 90s being filled with lots and lots of spittle-flecked rants from the right wing about how Bill Clinton was "disrespecting" the military. They also had a related conspiracy theory they kept propagating about how the military purposefully gave some cue right in front of him (dealing with salutes ) that they disrespected him, too.

I'm just imagining what that crowd would have done if Clinton wore a hat to something like this. I'm thinking they just might have given themselves aneurysms over it.

  • If Obama or Biden did this, the Republicans would be drafting articles of impeachment by Monday.

  • Exactly. W won a second term largely due to 9/11, I'd wager. He started off as extremely divisive and polarizing. Most people were at least deeply sus of him, if not considering him entirely illegitimate. The economy starts to implode.

Fast forward a few months, 9/11 happens, and most of the Murc's Law Media is falling all over themselves to prostrate before W. People acting like not voting for Republicans is not supporting the troops, or whatever the fuck.

Without 9/11, I don't see how that guy would have had a second term.

I could easily see a repeat here if there was some big terrorist event that they could blame on Iran. The real blame should lie with Pedonald and his maladministration for attacking Iran and doing a shit job on security here, but we have way too many idiots in this country that operate like windsocks.

  • Every time diaper donnie talks about golf, I think of this story. It was relevant in his first failed term, now that he's gone completely unchained in his second failed term, especially when we see his cabinet "meetings" and the way he holds pressers in front of a compliant media, all the more so...

But in the 1990s - another moment in time when an event in North Korea varies (some say it happened in 1991 and others in 1994), the late dictator, then 50 (or 53) years old, set a golfing standard that will assuredly never be surpassed. It occurred at the grand opening of the Pyongyang Golf Complex, which contains North Korea's only 18-hole golf course.

After picking up a golf club that day for the very first time in his life, the Dear Leader of the Democratic People's Republic of North Korea fired a 38-under-par round of 34 at Pyongyang. According to the 17 security guards who observed the performance, the score included an amazing 11 aces. Naturally, the event was dutifully reported to the North Korean masses by the state news agency.

  • Cool, so while dimbulb donnie is invading other countries for no fucking reason and Stephen Miller is giving absurd quotas of brown people to kidnap and throw in concentration camps and/or extreme rendition, they are increasing the danger to all Americans on top of that?

  • Or as the cons like to say: "a mandate".

  • Honestly, what was the issue with the border before? I keep seeing Republicans and plenty of reactionary centrists say that Donvict "closed the border because Joe had an open border policy".

What are they even talking about?

  • Well, reading about Sean Duffy's resume as Real World personality is nearly as bad, given he's Secretary of Transportation and spent my fucking money on.... lecturing Americans about how they dress when they travel.

I hate this administration so very much. At least Duffy isn't starting wars of choice and hasn't invaded America states and cities like Noem has.

But it's almost like they are designed to infuriate normal people.

  • Are you saying it was a bad idea to give this much power and responsibility to a drunk weekend host from Faux "News"?

  • "Back the blue. Well, eventually, maybe. If they were preventing our terrorists from stealing an election for PEDOnald, we'll have to drag it out for several years at least."

    --conservatives, probably
