My critique of BRICS isn't of BRICS, but some of its most enthusiastic supporters.
BRICS isn't a military alliance or an ideological organization. It's an economic group of countries that have diverse interests, but who all want (to varying degrees) to carve out an alternative space in the global economy (i.e. they do want their economies subject to the whims and dictates of Washington). While that's a progressive and necessary goal vis-a-vis the Empire, it's not a new comintern either
Mistake by NYC DSA to endorse her if they are going to withdraw it at Mamdani's behest. Makes them look weak and overrides the democratic will of the chapter. But the dominant factions in NYC DSA have made clear that they want to fully orient around Mamdani even at risk of damaging their internal democracy
Those are two different groups. The first is the majority, "read well enough" folks. The second is a significant percent of total students have literacy issues
