  • No, the "hate" is from people trying to raise alarms about the safeguards we need to put in place NOW to protect workers and creators before it's too late, to say nothing of what it will do to the information sphere. We are frustrated by tone deaf responses like this that dismiss it as a passing fad to hate on AI.

OF COURSE it will be transformational. No shit. That's exactly why many people are very justifiably up in arms about it. It's going to change a lot of things, probably everything, irreversibly, and if we don't get ahead of it with regulations and standards, we won't be able to. And the people who will use tools like this to exploit others -- because those people will ALWAYS use new tools to exploit others -- they want that inaction, and love it when they hear people like you saying it's just a kneejerk reaction.

  • I can never get over how Gaetz looks exactly like a comic book character.

  • Ngl, seeing bumper stickers that say "Trump Trump 2024" would be hilarious.

  • You grab what you think you'll need before you sit down.

  • Somebody really wants to drop a hard R.

  • That man wouldn't be caught dead near an apple.

  • Thanks buddy, I really appreciate it.

  • The roll inside the suitcase was what he used to bind her with, and was discarded with the clothes torn off her. He later used a different roll to bind the suitcase.

  • This is true about every armed conflict on the planet.

  • A better analogy might be shutting off their water because they were using it to make naughty ice sculptures, which are forbidden by the HOA.

  • Acting like a confused old person in the least helpful ways possible is always fun. I would sometimes do this with telemarketers who called. I'd adopt a doddering old woman persona, who would say "ehh?" and ask them to repeat things over and over again, and when they asked her for information I'd go "let me look for that", put the phone down, and then go make a bunch of loud noise as if I fell down.

  • If I was one of those employees, my response would be to smile and wave, maybe give a thumbs up, and go back to ignoring them. They can interpret it how they like, and only I know for sure that it means "Lol, you're getting nothing from me, you dumb buttmunch."

  • Literally anyone holding Harris's feet to the fire right now of all moments, when the outcome of the election depends on it. You win the election first, you moderate your demands until then, and then you raise the volume on your calls for change.

Because only one of those two candidates has quite literally suggested arresting and deporting ALL protesters. Undermining the only person who can prevent him from getting to the office that would enable that shit is just as bad if not worse than actually just quietly voting for him.

  • Even if that were true, there's a value proposition to work through here. Like most sane people, I typically prioritize my own children and the children of people I know over people in a country on the other side of the planet I will never interact with and whose fate will never affect in the slightest. That's just basic triage.

This is not to say I don't care about them, but looking at it from a purely pragmatic stance, it's not an issue that's going to change my position am inch on who to vote for in this election.

  • But I thought bOtH sIdEs ArE jUsT aS bAd.

  • At the very least, OP, dumping garbage by the road is against the law, so even if it's just regular garbage, you are reporting a crime regardless. Bonus: a cop has to deal with someone else's garbage.
