There is a positive correlation between how often I post and how poorly my life is going.

Moved to Icytrees@sh.itjust.works

  • I agree, an argument can be a narrative, too. One where the second person is a dickhead.

  • Appeal to Fallacy.

It might not be a fallacy.

A fallacy doesn't make an argument wrong.

    There are degrees of fallacies.

Claiming a statement is wrong because there might be a fallacy is a thought-ending argument. There's more nuance and relatability in rhetoric. Refusing to engage because someone's using a fallacy is reasonable, but calling it by name isn't a magic spell that forces someone to throw in the towel.

  • It's not a bigoted one either.

"I like feminine people of all genders, what is that?"

    "Normal."

We don't know OPs gender, but it doesn't matter. All sexualities are normal.

  • It...really doesn't. OP's gender isn't mentioned, either.

  • Is there a secret, hidden insult in that comment that only you can see? Is it in the room with us right now?

  • Analyzing thought terminating cliches is a baller move. Thought that was the end of it? No. Here's an in-depth analysis of your five word meme, your behavior, and the resulting sociological impact.

  • The capitalism can not spread where the ice flows and the coconuts reign.

  • A guy in my art school made a piss sculpture. He collected it in jars every day and then arranged them like pixels on a rack. It was neat to see the colour variation, since he deliberately ate things to try to get more hues.

  • Why the hell are you calling me out? I was complimenting the model as a statement.

  • I could draw genterbent sonic bukake with broken restuarant crayons and it would still be art.

In a way, even the act of gatekeeping art is kind of a performance piece. You, my friend, are an artist.

  • I did. Specifically this part:

Im not promoting their use. They are symbols of feelings that many of us are having right now. Just like the guillotine.

But we aren’t going around building guillotines. At present, Ive not seen any riots in the U.S nor use of either of these except on Nazi cars on dealership lots.>>

  • How dare someone make art that represents their feelings toward current events.

  • Terrifying, thank you.

  • Pissed that the rest of Canada won't build pipelines for them. Give them better access to refineries in other provinces. Clearly, leaving the country is the solution.

This is like moving out on your own because your roommates won't clean up after you, and make you pay your share of the bills.

  • We lost a lot of NDP to conservatives. Not sure if it was people "voting strategically" liberal to avoid a conservative win, or just a lot of lost faith in NDP. Probably both of those things and more.

It's a win, but it's a bitter one, when a party loses status because their supporters only flipped liberal to try to keep fascists out - and end up losing their representatives to conservatives.

We need either ranked choice or proportional representation because people shouldn't have to vote against their interests.

But fuck yeah PP lost in his riding. I hope he eats a big bag of dicks.

  • Lies! He's just a regular wolf!

  • Is this how I learn Pope Francis is dead?

  • Are they really patterns, though? Or is it confirmation bias?

Even early psychological studies from 100+ years ago found that women, on average, feel and react to emotional stresses the same way as men. There are 100+ year old studies on PMS that say women, on average, don't express more anger or sadness prior to or while on a period - and yet we still get hysterical women PMSing memes.

Media can make us see patterns that aren't there. Media can change the way people view the world around them and affect how they behave.

  • I was lucky to get in and out but I'm in a small town and went early. Still glad to see people voting. Please fucking vote!
