Proposing a nationalized grocery store is not going to win votes. A lot of people understand how bad the government is at managing things. Far better would be to tax people less so they can afford necessities. What I would like to see is include the ticket price, and then include how many years before the project is paid for. Obviously, also include the savings incurred by less maintenance on roads etc. because of the traffic moved to high speed rail.

We can do this for bridges, why not for high speed rail?
