  • Do things in recycle bin not get synced to the cloud/backed up?(edit: nope seems everything from breaking migration tool, ballooning profiles and overzealous compliance can be mitigated elsewhere). Hence doing so in the roll out? No idea otherwise or why they wouldn’t know. Sometimes we just get told to do things a certain way. Not IT anymore but currently work with engineers who try shortcutting triage queues (probably in an attempt to save everyone time, not maliciously) and we have to undo their assignment and triage it as laid out. Specifically we were told “people will try to tell you who to send internal requests to, ignore them”. Largely for accountability so tickets/requests don’t get dropped or breach SLA and also because it can break workflows. Locking out recycle bins without being able to provide a good reason is pretty wild though lmao.

  • “Just so you know, there’s a typo in Australia in the image” or something. Idk the brevity of the comment gave me a similar tone impression as the OP got.

  • So my first remark highlighting this being obviously done to reduce expenses on employee wages is met with a remark about “”safety”” because surely that’s why corps are trying to automate jobs, and dripping condescension. Now you’re presuming to lecture me on democracy and corporations being evil. Not to be rude, but you seem like someone that doesn’t socialise outside social media very much.

  • Oh I wasn’t comparing you to him, more remarking how rare that sort of score is. Either way, sounds like a difficult time. I recall sociopaths having a difficult time finding support.

  • You scored the same or higher than Ted Bundy, which is the highest score among serial killers on the PCL-R?

  • Not sure if it’s useful but it’s the same for normal mouse on my machine. Only keyboard wakes the system. I think changing the timeout for sleeping in power settings helps but not the root issue of the mouse not waking the machine.

  • Right, it’s totally reasonable that the burden be on citizens and not corporations who consistently attempt to capsize the economy with greed. Are you American because it’d tempting to be equally condescending about their “democracy”.

  • Tbh kinda appreciate the response not being typical AI sycophant mode.

  • Nice. Now we can ship our minerals and resources overseas with less of our workers being paid to do so.

  • Did I say that? GitHub action descriptions isn’t really an avenue to communicate with users.

  • ABS is a feature to stop sliding which I imagine would be crucial in winter driving. That and making sure your tyres are suited for that condition and have good tread on them.

  • I think the description is sufficient. As long as the dev and contributors know what it’s referring to. Isn’t this app mostly worked on by one person? I think people complaining about short action descriptions or calling them stupid is a bit excessive. Unless both you and the OP are looking to contribute?

  • Hmmm wonder what’s going on with all these images, anyway.

  • Seven figures while semi-literate? If you say so. The way you type is strikingly close to another clearly unwell poster that posted similar grandiose claims.

  • Yeah no, “you think they’re hostile because of an accent”? Please. The interviewer themselves says something to the effect of “I must say I think it’s a perfectly reasonable question to ask” which then gets him to ease up about it and explain himself. Either way, not hallmarks of a great educator, at least in that interview specifically. I think someone like Neil deGrasse Tyson would have handled the question in a better manner. Anyway, not worth having an internet debate over; especially not when you’re going to get downvoted for disagreeing.

  • I don’t really assume since Im basing it off what I watched of the interview and come to that opinion. He just seemed unnecessarily hostile/antagonistic to the interviewer when it came to that question. Being a “great mind” doesn’t really excuse it and detracts being a good educator imo.

  • Great video. I mentioned it in a discussion about the strangulation porn ban in the UK; specifically the “women strangled by a partner are 750% more likely to be murdered by said partner” statistic. Someone chimes in with “that sounds like a completely fabricated stat”. I have to assume due to the name that came after Dr. That magnet interview wasn’t particularly flattering either.

  • Not sure I agree with some of the assertion made there but regardless thanks for the reply. I look forward to checking it out.
