  • Yep. Not saying Biden didn’t suck. Just saying it’s weird complaining that the roof had a leak a year ago when you’re currently drowning in a flood, that’s all.

  • Is the timing of this report supposed to distract from how insanely much worse things have gotten after Biden? Not saying the report isn’t accurate, just think the timing is suspicious.

  • This is very little very late. But hey, it’s the right direction. Now if you keep on moving that way maybe eventually it’ll have an effect (besides Israel publicly playing the victim I mean).

  • That’s the thing though. I think after acquiring the power you need to keep on stepping on some people to stay in the position. You likely don’t have infinite resources so there’s always going to be someone who missies out. Also what about people meaning to harm you or your subjects?

  • Same here. Also I don’t think I’d make it long at the top either. I think a certain lack of empathy is required to be ok with some of the requirements of the position.

  • I don’t think that there’s more assholes than decent people. I think the assholes just stick out more.

  • Hey, they chose to offer free labor for a company that has proven time and time again to not give a crap about the mods or the users. I get why they are complaining but I at least hope that they aren’t surprised or expect that their complaints will do anything.

  • Italian and Vietnamese. I’m from neither of the places, but their food is so much better than anything we’ve got.

  • I just know that the main supermarkets in my country are actively lobbying the government and suing the competition to squash them. But hey, if we don’t try we lose by default.

  • Yeah, I was thinking along similar lines, but maybe just a mandatory country of origin flag next to the price. However the downside of that is that some of our food is already picked one country and then transported to another for processing, then transported to another for packaging. So my idea is unrealistic. However I like your “this is picked, processed and packaged in Europe only” type of labeling. Sadly I’m sure that all of the big food producers would be against it and they have a lot of money to lobby the government to prevent this.

  • Oh wow, thanks. Someone under that post also linked that this is not about Coca Cola the drink, but everything owned by the Coca Cola company, which is over 500 brands.

    As I recently explained to someone else on here: I genuinely don’t think most Europeans are doing the research regarding the background of the brands they buy. It’s easy to avoid things like the standard Coca Cola drink as that’s well known to be from the US, but I’m sadly willing to bet that most of those other brands would be purchased without much of a second thought.

  • Got some data to back that up? All I can find is a decline in Europe revenue 2025 Q1 by 1.1%, but hey, maybe you found more recent numbers?

  • Of course he did. The ones he’s been found guilty of at least. But with how much he doesn’t want the files out there’s definitely some extra ones in there.

  • So if I read that right Britain is blamed for Ukraine not signing the deal because they said they’d still keep on supporting Ukraine if they continue the war? Seems like the influence of Britain is very much overstated here. You sent a link to an article that has a single other article as its source. From that source article I bring you this:

    Still, the claim that the West forced Ukraine to back out of the talks with Russia is baseless. It suggests that Kyiv had no say in the matter. True, the West's offers of support must have strengthened Zelensky's resolve, and the lack of Western enthusiasm does seem to have dampened his interest in diplomacy. Ultimately, however, in his discussions with Western leaders, Zelensky did not prioritize the pursuit of diplomacy with Russia to end the war.

    As far as I can find the list of Russia’s demands were far from reasonable at the time. Here are a few of them:

    • Making Russian equal to Ukrainian as joint official languages;
    • Giving Russia and China absolute power to decide how Ukraine is to deal with any future armed conflict in Ukraine;
    • Repealing a law Ukraine passed in 2014 that makes it illegal to use Swastikas and Soviet symbols and makes it illegal to deny the holocaust;
    • Strong limits on Ukraine military size and abilities. PDF by the Institute of War nonprofit research group - this information is also corroborated by the original foreign affairs source your article is summarizing, this is just a neater list to read through.

    Meanwhile Russia made no concessions regarding giving back any of the land they were illegally occupying. Given the above I understand why the deal wasn’t signed at the time. I suspect all that signing that would have done is lead to a revolution in Ukraine to topple the government that signed away their county. I don’t think signing that would have avoided further bloodshed.

  • So? What’s your point? I still hate when ANYONE invades a country and starts a war. Someone not signing a treaty is in my eyes nowhere near grounds enough to start a war. Heck, if Russia wanted to be closer to Ukraine so bad they could have asked them if they want to join BRICS. It’s the voluntary bit that is important to me.

  • Hey, I’m anti violence regardless of who is the perpetrator. I hate it when Russia invades a country and starts a war. I hate it when Israel invades a country and starts a war. And yes, I also very much hate it when the US invades a country and starts a war. I don’t care which country starts and whether it’s eastern or western or capitalist or communist. I just hate violence.

  • Thank you for asking. I am too sheltered to know most slurs and it was bugging me, but not enough to ask myself.

  • Wow there’s some weird pro-Russian aggression people in this comment section.

  • Depends. I specifically targeted the users saying things like “omg, Reddit is dead. RIP. Where shall we go now?” And “If there were an alternative I’d switch in a heartbeat” or “that’s it, I’m leaving. This was my last straw”. Basically users that genuinely sounded to me like they were looking for something. Not that they ever got to see my response.
