I didn’t catch that this is from Nihei Tsutomu. The guy’s one of my favorite manga artists. Not always the plot or that the main characters usually only have one face, but the background is always amazing.

The chamber of commerce is not in any way part of the US government, but they take advantage of people who think they are. They are like a union but for rich people and corporations.

Edit: I guess you could argue they are part of the government as any other lobbying group, but that’s like saying that tapeworms are just a part of pork. Probably a position the US chamber of commerce would support if they thought about it.

When they stop catching people for trafficking, they will claim trafficking has gone down to zero.

I wasn’t entirely aware, so thank you. I was just using NY as an example. It could have been Maine, Vermont, or Washington. And maybe for each of them it would be the redder area. I wasn’t as aware as I should have been. Looking it up I think it was a good guess, because it is new York. However it’s Vermont too. A cursory glance says it’s not Maine though.

That’s our own fault though. The number 1 demographic causing drunk driving accidents was people 18 to 21. Making it so that they couldn’t drink in bars made them more likely to stay home to drink.

There was an alternative, but the other methods were cheaper and illegal. Looking up another source( correct me if either is wrong https://www.battlefields.org/learn/articles/tea-brewing-revolution ) this wasn’t just a thing in America, and it was resulting in a lot of stock sitting on the shelves.
