  • The way I was taught was to place down a paper towel, then crack the side of the egg against the flat surface and roll the egg back-and-forth to mush the shell into much smaller pieces.

    Should make it easier to peel bit by bit instead of pulling away large chunks that can cut into the egg “flesh.”

    Edit: the paper towel was to make it easier to clean up the shell bits afterwards

  • When I lived in a bigger city, I occasionally fed the local pigeons (birdseed and nuts, not bread or anything). Sometimes a couple of them would stand in my lap. Does that count?

    Little bird feetpresence can be surprisingly warm on a cold morning, and pigeons are quite cute up close, imo.

  • I mean this in a genuine way - I actually don’t expect you to spend your free time on things you don’t have interest in. That would, indeed, be a waste of your time.

    Your archival of games is a great effort and a positive thing.

    Some folks enjoy gaming, game history, and cultural critique of generational hardware. Those interests/hobbies are also valid. That’s not a waste of their time.

  • I’ve been old since I was like 14. I was young for like a year in my late teens then went back to being the local grandparent.

    I fully accept and enjoy it. I make great cookies and have oodles of blankets to choose from when watching TV.
