Murray how did you get all the way up there?
Sheer force of will!!
Oh man, I remember playing time splitters at my buddies place. We spent so much time building custom maps
Commander keen
Wingnuts
Burn:Cycle
Myst
Duke Nukem (the first one but also 3D)
Wingnuts was a dumb fmv ‘dog fighting’ game, but when you beat it you could play it again with silly dialogue. I also remember when setting up the sound card the test audio was a guy saying ‘ah veiners, just ze vay I like zem!’ In a bad German accent.
Burn:Cycle was an fmv adventure game that I adored, it also came with a sound track cd and a little packet of leaflets based on in game stuff that was really cool. I still listen to the ost on occasion
Similar, one of my coworkers once got a roll of ‘voice activated’ stickers and put them on all the paper towel dispensers in the bathroom. Apparently the LT made a fool of himself yelling at one later that day and we all got yelled at for it. Totally worth it lol.
That looks a lot like the backrooms mall.
I always figured it was easier for the system to simply create real water than it was to simulate fluid dynamics with holography. I think it was encounter at far point where someone fell in the water and they were still wet when they left the holodeck too.
Also I think people forget the development hell that the remake was.
There is a philip k dick short story called ‘the skull’ about a time traveler sent back in time to kill Jesus that was very interesting.
Unless your car is traveling faster than the speed of light, radar will detect objects in front of it. But yeah, I was trying to imply that for a complex system like self driving musk is a buffoon for relying on a single system instead of creating a more robust package of sensors.
I remember reading that tesla only uses cameras for it’s self driving. My 2018 Honda uses radar for the adaptive cruise so the technology exists, musk is just an idiot.
The problem with gog, is that it’s owned by CD project red…and they are publicly traded
I’m running popOS! With an geForce 3080 and so far it seems to be working. Ymmv
I suppose it really depends on figuring out what consciousness really is.
If we’re talking about pure digital information then nothing is actually moved, it’s just copied and written to a new location. From the perspective of the new mind, continuity would be preserved and it would think it had simply changed places. The old mind (if it survives the scanning/transfer process) would still be outside the simulation and see a new copy of itself in there.
On the other hand, if consciousness is some kind of understandable phenomena, with even more sci-fi tech we might be able to simply scoop it out and put it somewhere else. In that case it would be the same person.
The absence of evidence isn’t evidence of absence.
But realistically, and specifically OPs scenario, it doesn’t matter because there’s literally nothing you can do about it except try to be better than you were yesterday.
This is the first time I’ve heard the second part of that joke lol
I don’t really care for screen rant. TLDR: He didn’t want a promotion because he wanted to keep flying and he’s immature.
I can sort of see wanting to keep flying, but you’ll never convince me none of th senior officers he lived with for 7 years wouldn’t have mentored and pushed him to be a great officer.
I would die of dehydration after that, that’s how hard I would avoid water.
Would a sperm/egg combo from the same person not be a clone?
