  • Still waiting for dimetrodons to get revised with fur like dinos did with feathers.

  • TLDR: But at what cost???

  • Libs actually rejoiced.

  • Hmmm...

  • Another fun fact to ponder is that tuna (and other bony fish) are more closely related to dolphins than they are to sharks despite being grouped as "fish".

  • As of the 2022 census, ethnic Indians make up 2.9% of the British population while ethnic Pakistanis make up 2.5%. People tend to overestimate their numbers because they're concentrated in city centers.

  • Every dollar saved by laying off an employee is gonna get spent on hiring private security.

  • HATE.

  • It's an Apocalypse Warlord (lol) 6x6 and it can be yours for just $250,000. What they do is take a run of the mill Ram TRX which is already an expensive truck at $95,000 and lengthen it to add two wheels and flip the RAM badge backwards so it says WAR

The existence of this vehicle is proof that we are at peak fragility of masculinity.

  • Those shore birds are voracious killers just as terrifying as any raptor. The ancestral code in my DNA gets flashbacks to our days of scurrying away from dinosaurs whenever I see a heron spearing a rodent in the bush.

  • And Nvidia isn't even in the AI race- they're just the proprietor selling picks and shovels to the gold miners hoping to strike it rich. And so far, they're the only ones profiting from it, just like the pick sellers were during the gold rush.

  • A lot of strength programs advocate for doing the opposing movement of compound lifts for the sake of strength balance and joint health. I've been doing Wendler 5/3/1 for over a decade and he programs rows in between sets of bench, pullups in between overhead press, hanging leg raises between deadlifts, etc. In your case you're just working with the pushup and inverted row so alternate with those.

You might feel exhausted if you're not used to the workload at first but you'll QUICKLY adapt. Just bang out a set of rows after every set of pushups you do. Try to keep them the same reps but it's no big deal if it's mismatched- and since you're new to rows it may take some time for it to catch up. And with bodyweight you can do them daily. Just be mindful of joint overuse issues if they crop up.

And I second @erik@hexbear.net's recommendations for bands. I would also add a doorway pullup bar- they won't require permanent installation and just hang on your door frame. It will also greatly expand the amount of band exercises you can do even if you can't do a pullup (yet).

  • Here's a not so fun fact- life on land is filled with parasites too! And every organism that breathes air is teeming with them, including you and me! Most of us who live under modern conveniences are mostly free of the really big scary ones, but even the healthiest of us still host millions, if not billions of unwanted travelers on our bodies.

  • You just know that some brand strategist was paid millions to come up with the name Blackrock as an offshoot of Blackstone.

  • Remember how the cost of living crisis was framed as a temporary hurdle to overcome? We've just slowly accepted this is the new normal and it's never going back.

  • Even if it was 100% sustainable with zero ecological impact, why the fuck would anyone derive pleasure from this barbaric act? At least slaughterhouses are aware of the horrific spectacle of animal butchery so they shield it from the public. But the Faroese celebrate this bloody affair and fiercely defend it as "tradition".

  • I often wonder why the state of transport infrastructure in the UK isn't headline news on every international news outlet. Why cover an ongoing genocide when there is the more pressing matter of inconvenienced Britons?

  • It would be cool if we normalized the arrest of our leaders. That is one aspect of occupied Korea that I envy. Four of their last seven(!) presidents have been imprisoned. Two were actually sentenced to death but later commuted to life sentences. Trump has a list of convictions a mile long and never even saw the inside of a jail cell because we're afraid of holding our ruling class accountable.

  • People who say you should criticize AOC less because there are way worse members of congress act like she’s just passively sitting there being a mediocre lawmaker. She’s not. She’s actively anchoring the leftmost edge of the Overton window of US politics to militarism, capitalism, colonialism, and genocide. She’s actively stopping American politics from moving any further left than the nightmare we see before us.

Leftists shouldn’t hate AOC less than the politicians to her right, they should hate her much more. It isn’t Mike Johnson’s responsibility to move the US government to the left, and it’s not Nancy Pelosi’s job. It’s hers. That’s what she was elected to do. That’s what she framed the goals of her entire political career as being. And she’s taking her stand firmly bracing against any leftward movement from America’s genocidal, warmongering, unjust, exploitative, tyrannical status quo.

And this, libs, is why we focus so much of our ire at AOC and Bernie.

  • The housing density and lack of monster trucks is a dead giveaway.

  • Not only that, but her specific district is overwhelmingly Latino. The way the district lines are formed almost looks like it deliberately avoids the Jewish enclaves. She isn't doing this to please her constituents; she has grander political ambitions and sees this as a prerequisite to gaining favor with the party brass.
