What’s especially fucking dumb is the argument of ‘hurr money out of your pocket’. That shit goes right out the god damned window the second you look at where our taxes go i.e. the budget. Of what we overall pay education is laughably low.

Yes, generalizations are usually bad, and there are exceptions to literally any group. Doesn’t mean it’s a myth. The term wouldn’t exist if it was a myth, and wouldn’t be so widely used if there wasn’t a large amount of truth attached to it. I’m also not discrediting the issues we have with corpo bullshit. Thats obviously it’s own issue, but I will point out that part of the reason corp interests are in our politics at all is again because of the same group voting in the ability for lobbying by those corps.

  • It’s not a myth. If it wasn’t so disgustingly true across the board I’d be in agreement. Class war over generational and all that, but I’ll also call out the systems and people that are actively (STILL) shitting all over progress. Their generation is at fault in large part to why we’re so utterly fucked and continue to be (see Reagan). The majority of our gov is run by geriatric fucks that refuse to align with their constituents and cling on to their positions until they’re literally in wheel chairs. Those are fucking boomers. They’re in charge still, and they’re the ones holding the reins on voting in any iota of progress in any number of categories, one being minimum wage. Fuck them.

  • Jesus fuck holy hell this was me down to the letter. Only difference was my meds worked for probably a year, which made the drop in productivity even more obvious. Like a ‘why brain no worky’ moment that just curved down over time. I had other shit going on though that I like to partially attribute, plus my med spiking up to 450 a month was enough for me to get off meds which was even more horrifyingly bad. Now 2 years later I’m back to being unproductive and kicking myself 10 times harder because I know what I’m capable of. Queue the endless anxiety / stress / guilt cycle. Now I have to go through finding another doc, then 6 months of scaling whatever med, that’s if I ever remember after work that I need to do it to begin with. Only time I ever remember is laying in bed at night losing sleep because of the amount of anxiety I have from not performing.

  • Yeah my issue is my hyperfixation is gaming. Other hobbies every now and then, but never anything useful like programming, even though that would be a major boon. Anything learning-wise and my brain just shuts down, finds everything it can to distract, etc. when I’m medicated though? Yeah, I’m def the dude on the left. Power through anything, learn anything. Literally feel like the guy in Limitless when my meds are working.
