Epic’s whole business model is getting children addicted to gambling loot boxes and Apple’s IAP system is a roadblock to that. With their own payment system they can simply get little Jimmy to enter mommy’s credit card number so he can get all the loot boxes he wants without being stopped by Apple’s pesky parental control system.

It absolutely blows my mind that someone would prioritize getting a new car above getting the basics things you need to live.

It’s called the ‘inner platform effect’. They are basically replicating parts of the underlying platform (the OS in this case) inside their own application, until the application turns into a platform itself, one crappier than the one below it. You see this happening with web browsers and ‘web apps’.

That is salmiak flavored licorice, it’s not salmiak. Just like a bag of paprika flavoured crisps says ‘paprika’ on the front, doesn’t mean that paprika is another word for crisps.

The only relation between licorice and salmiak is that it’s used to flavour a specific type of licorice.

No it’s not. DST makes it so summer afternoons and evenings are useless because it’s too hot in the direct sunlight. By the time the sun goes down and you can actually be outside it’s time for bed.

We should move the clock a hour back in summer so we can actually enjoy the summer evenings.

Dark? It doesn’t get dark in summer at the end of the workday, even if you move the clock backwards.

What I do like in summer is being outside, which isn’t possible until after sundown because you’ll burn alive if you do. It doesn’t get comfortable outdoors until after the sun sets which in the middle of summer isn’t until 22:00, thanks to DST.

I’d like to BBQ, eat outdoors, have a few drinks with friends in my garden. All impossible during weekdays because there is not enough time after sunset before I need to go to bed.
