  • No chance the EU agrees to that.

  • They’ve outsourced the entire production of that car to a Chinese company. It’s built on a Chinese platform and uses subsidised Chinese supply chains. There is no way that they should be exempt.

  • So you think that the emissions of manufacturing and shipping are the same for a 200 kg motorcycle as they are for a 2000 kg car? Please explain how you’ve come to this conclusion.

  • Motorcycles are just as bad for the environment as cars.

Doesn’t seem possible. Maybe you’re biased?

  • So they're banning electric bicycles based on tire width? That doesn't really make any more sense to me. Also weird that throttle controlled e-bikes are allowed, but fat tires aren't. (Especially considering that EU regulation 168/2013 implies that pedal assistance is mandatory.)

  • Am I understanding this correctly, that they want to ban bicycles based on the width of their tires?

  • Article is paywalled. Most people I know don’t give a shit about the US actively dismantling the rules based international order, or the unfair trade practices of China. If Russia made good cars, no doubt they’d be extremely popular here.
