  • I would say that for younger women who are still getting accustomed to their cycle and how it affects their bodies, this can be reasonable. But for seasoned women who should know how their cycle affects their bodies, it's a rather annoying question to have to answer for literally any doctors visit. If I'm about to have a procedure, then sure they have to make certain. If they have reason to believe there is a correlation with an issue I'm having and reproductive issues, then fine also. But if I'm just coming in for a yearly exam or because I've had a sinus infection that won't go away, etc, this question is pointless and quite frankly none of their business. Especially in today's political climate in the US, I'd rather they not actively track that unless I have a specific reason to do so medically.

  • As a former singer I used to bring my sheet binder with me to do exactly this. Id memorize lyrics, work on pronunciation, rhythm, cues, etc. there's a lot you can do to silently work on a piece of music.

  • I work for a big healthcare provider and in spite this likely being true, I still hear all the time about trying to "reduce over utilization". It's disgusting.

  • My husband and I had looked at VW as one of their cars matched our criteria. When we went to look at it I was like "what do you mean this car only has 1 cup holder?!?!" Like that wasn't even on our list of needs to consider because... You know... I assumed every car had at least 2.

  • Second the freezer! I like to do a lot of meal prep work when I have more energy and then freeze all kinds of things that make very filling healthy meals in less than 20 minutes. My 2 favorite examples are chicken pot pie filling and pesto. All the work is done ahead and I have everything pre-portioned so I don't have to think about it later. Just grab it out of the freezer and start warming it up!

  • I just started watching the new King of the Hill season and I gotta say it's pretty good! Hank's already got great lines like "I shouldn't need to call tech support to make a burger." Which is sort of how I feel about this ad.

  • I grow purple basil every year specifically so I can make pink basil smashes. They taste just like a regular basil smash... But it's pink!!!

  • Have you tried replacing alcoholic drinks with non alcoholic drinks? I switched to non alcoholic cocktails and non alcoholic beer which has become very common and quite good where I'm from. So this allows me to continue to hang out and socialize with friends as usual. I don't have to turn down going to a bar with them and I can bring my own beverages to parties. It won't help loosen you up, but you can still socialize like you always do without making a big thing of the fact that you're off alcohol.

  • That pp tho

  • In Chicago it's because of 1 of 3 reasons:

    1. They are 12 or under.
    2. There isn't any bike infrastructure and they are safer on the sidewalk.
    3. They're a dick and ride on the sidewalk anyway in spite the very nice protected bike lanes that are right next to the sidewalk. This is the case 90% of the time and could be curbed with some education and enforcement, but that'll never probably happen.
  • There are some still around believe it or not. There's one local to me that's been around forever. They don't have anything that's exclusive to streaming services, but that have loads of new movies and a massive collection of old movies. They're pretty handy to get movies that are in limbo due to rights disputes.

  • I have a media converter made from a raspberry pi I use for all of my old consoles so I can play them on modern TVs. I bet it would work great for vhs tapes as well. Tape degradation might be a different issue though...

  • They won't let you order sloppy steaks. But they can't stop you from ordering a steak and a glass of water!

  • Similar energy

  • My dog is the most cowardly dog I've ever met. All I would have to do is bring the toy he is afraid of. All the other dogs will either ignore it or want to play with it. But my dog will recognize the scary toy and cower. I got him that toy for Christmas and it was a really nice expensive toy. Same brand as all his other toys he loves. But for whatever reason, he's scared of it. So I gave it to my parent's dogs who think it's just the best toy they've ever seen.

  • Chicago has been excellent about this. If the people say a bike lane is needed, they will very likely put it in. The only issue that really gets in the way is the privatized parking meter issue. We really shot ourselves in the foot with that one. Still, I only ever see bike infrastructure get better in Chicago every day. There are even some streets that are being made permanent pedestrian only areas which I'm stoked about!

  • It's cool in here boy

  • Artist's impression of a person without a skeleton... Or hair lol.

  • I mean... If it's somewhere you don't want to be...
